Regional Accountant at TRANSPORTATION RESEARCH CENTER INC. – EAST LIBERTY, Ohio

The Regional Accountant position is responsible for assisting the finance department in creating accurate and timely financial records for TRC Inc.

Participate in monthly financial close activities, performing account reconciliations and preparing journal entries as assigned.

Provide checks and balances, as well as serve in a backup role, in support of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable

Participate in the annual budgeting process

Participate in the annual financial audit by preparing schedules and providing requested information.

Essential AP Functions*

Prepare supplier invoices

Prepare Employee Expense reports

Prepare monthly and annual AP closing

Reconcile direct purchases

Monitor project management pre-invoicing activity

Maintain Fixed Asset listing and Depreciation Schedules

Complete Monthly Accounts Receivable past due reports

Create invoices and credit memos

Follow-up on overdue accounts

Work closely with payroll to report, reconcile and prepare journal entries related to payroll transactions and retirement plan activities.

Support TRC Inc.s Quality and EH&S (Environmental, Health, and Safety) efforts

Works on a professional level for satellite locations and works closely with Controller

Bachelors degree in Accounting or related degree

Three years of accounting experience or related experience`

Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws regarding accounting and taxation

Proficient in relevant accounting software

Excellent problem analysis and problem-solving skills

Valid drivers license

Proficient with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel

Standard office, climate control environment

> 20% Travel is required.

Must be able to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time

Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment

Ability to communicate with customers and co-workers
