Icy Strait Point is looking for a Gondola Maintenance Technician to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our aerial gondola system. ? Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on mechanical and electrical gondola components.
? Ensure compliance with ANSI safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
? Stay trained on emergency response procedures, including rope evacuations.
? Work at heights and in extreme weather conditions to keep the gondola operational.
? Assist with procuring materials, maintaining records, and supporting special projects.
? Act as a leader in the absence of the Gondola Maintenance Supervisor/Lead.
? 5+ years of experience in electrical or mechanical maintenance, repair, or related fields.
? Ability to climb, lift up to 100 lbs, and work at high elevations.
? Familiarity with tramway blueprints, hydraulics, wire ropes, and controls.
? Strong problem-solving, teamwork, and customer service skills.
? Willingness to live and work in a remote Alaskan community and travel via small plane or ferry.
?? Prior tramway maintenance experience.
?? Current Rope Access or Fall Protection certifications.
?? Experience with wire rope splicing and socketing.
?? Outdoor work at high elevations, in all weather conditions.
?? Physically demanding tasks, including hiking trails, lifting heavy equipment, and working at heights.
?? Non-smoking facility with designated outdoor smoking areas.
