CHMC-MHU- RN – Part Time- Mid Shift – Requisition 8637

Pay Range: $37.72-$49.63*

A Registered Nurse in the Mental Health Department provides comprehensive emotional and physical care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients in an inpatient setting with a strong interdisciplinary team approach in the provision of services. Delivering specialized, compassionate patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation in a mental health setting. Effectively communicates with patients and other patient care team members to facilitate optimal patient outcomes, while maintaining standards of professional nursing. Establishes priorities for nursing action according to patient’s needs and formulates appropriate care. Performs continuous assessments and revises care plans based upon patient’s condition.

Candidate will also triage for MH collaborating with PSA and charge RN to facilitate the flow of MH patients through ED, taking the lead role in code orange situations including the de-escalation process, and communication with nursing supervisor to address unit needs in relation to MH acuity levels.

This is a floating RN position that will be working in our ED, Adult MHU, and Adolescent MHU.

QUALIFICATIONS: Valid New York State RN License, 1 year medical/surgical experience preferred. Crisis Intervention Training within hospital orientation period. Basic Computer knowledge. Maintaining confidentiality of all patient information. Maintaining quality assurance and compliance with all regulatory agencies. Ability to implement and support procedures and programs pertaining to patient safety and security. Exhibit proficient communication skills and ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a variety of personalities. Ability to sustain attention to detail and accuracy as it pertains to the monitoring and documentation of information. Maintaining a safe and clean environment for patients. Acknowledging changes in a patient’s condition or behavior, and promptly reporting these changes to appropriate licensed nursing personnel. Performing various intervention tasks assigned by the charge nurse.
