Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable, highly organized, and detail-oriented professional to support daily administrative operations within a fast-paced medical data entry environment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timely processing of patient and insurance information. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality in accordance with healthcare regulations and HIPAA standards.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with internal teams to verify patient insurance coverage, maintain electronic records, and ensure all documentation is properly processed and recorded within designated systems.

Key Responsibilities
- Verify Medicaid eligibility and benefits through applicable state websites and online portals
- Accurately complete and update patient accounts within Epic and other internal databases
- Perform scanning, filing, and uploading of required documentation into electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Prepare, review, and maintain data entry reports to ensure completeness and accuracy
- Sort, distribute, and document incoming mail, ensuring proper routing and recordkeeping
- Maintain organized electronic and physical filing systems
- Identify discrepancies in data and proactively resolve issues in a timely manner
- Assist with additional administrative and operational duties as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in data entry and documentation
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Epic electronic medical records system
- Familiarity with DMAS, Promise, and NJMMIS Medicaid systems
- Experience working with payor websites such as Navinet, One Source, Availity, and similar insurance portals
Pre-Employment Requirements
- Offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of applicable screenings consistent with federal, state, and local laws.
- Screenings may include: criminal background check, drug screen, physical exam, PPD screening, and verification of immunization records (role-specific).
- Employment eligibility will be verified through I-9/E-Verify.
- Because PATHS operates in the healthcare industry, certain screenings (e.g., OIG/GSA exclusion checks, state Medicaid exclusion lists) may be conducted on a recurring basis as required by federal and state law, client contracts, and hospital compliance programs.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
· Frequent movement in hospital or office settings, including walking between patient rooms and departments.
· Occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds.
· Must have reliable transportation and valid driver’s license for travel to client sites as required.

Compensation & Benefits
· Compensation: $15 – $16/hour (actual range provided in postings as required by applicable state pay transparency laws).
