We provide a full range of design services in roads and highways, bridges and structural engineering, high speed rail systems, pumping and drainage networks, airports, municipal infrastructure, intelligent transportation systems, construction management services for all levels of government agencies as well as private developers.

Job Description

Project Accountant with 3-5 years of experience for immediate full-time employment in the Houston office.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous support to Project Managers during the life cycle of a project including but not limited to project setup, maintenance, invoicing, and project closure
• Prepare client invoices in accordance with the contract terms and conditions and ensure all billing transactions are accurately recorded in the ERP System
• Monitor project balances on Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable as well as revenue and unbilled balances (WIP) to ensure proper revenue recognition
• Meeting multiple critical deadlines monthly
• Participate in internal and external audits
• Submit recommendations for improvements and actively participate in the company’s initiatives in this area (process, procedures, systems, and controls improvements)
• Train and/or mentor to other team members as needed

Minimum Skills and Experience

• 3+ years of billing experience (Preferably within AEC Industry)
• Experience with ERP Systems, specifically Deltek Vantagepoint
• Strong knowledge of Excel and Word required
• Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals
• Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Collaborative approach

Desired Skills and Experience

• Experience with Federal Government Contracting in the AEC Industry.
• Practical knowledge and understanding of US GAAP requirements and Federal Contract Accounting
• Ability and willingness to be flexible, especially during month end and quarter end close
