About This Position
The Overview
The Host/Cashier is the first point of contact for every guest and plays a key role in delivering the warm, welcoming experience Trapper’s Sushi is known for. This role is responsible for greeting guests, managing the flow of the dining room, handling payments, and maintaining an organized and efficient front-of-house environment.
Pay: $21.65/hour + Tips

What You'll Do
- Greet every guest with genuine enthusiasm and a smile
- Manage the seating rotation and coordinate with servers for smooth service flow
- Handle to-go orders and accurately process payments
- Keep the lobby, menus, and host stand clean and organized
- Communicate clearly with kitchen and front-of-house staff

Experience & Qualifications
- Previous customer service or hospitality experience preferred but not required.
- Strong verbal communication skills and ability to engage with guests in a friendly, professional manner.
- Ability to multitask and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail when entering orders, quoting wait times, or processing payments.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Must obtain a valid Food Handler’s Permit/State Food Worker Card prior to the first day of work (per state law).
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Standing for long periods of time.
- Frequent walking, bending, and reaching.
- Lifting up to 25 lbs (menus, to-go bags, supplies).
- Working in high-traffic areas with constant guest interaction.
- Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions while managing front-door flow.
