About This Position
Primary Purpose
The Meet & Greet position is primarily responsible for promptly greeting the guest as they enter the building in a warm, friendly and confident manner. The Meet & Greet position is the first impression that our customers have and how you welcome them will set the stage for their dining experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIESThe Meet & Greet position has responsibility for the following:
- Demonstrating a customer-first attitude and living The Hollywood Tavern’s culture, values and mission.
- Immediately visible and accessible to guests as they enter the restaurant.
- Immediately welcoming the guests with a smile, eye contact and a pleasant greeting.
- Assuring the comfort of waitlisted customers in designated wait areas by way of water or other means.
- Gathering relevant information including size of party, number of children, and any special accomodations or requirements.
- Communicating large group or reservation info and/or requests to floor managers.
- Escorting guests to their table, presenting their seat, and handing out appropriate menus.
- Delivering plates, silverware and water glasses to the table.
- Informing guest of the server’s name and indicating that the server will visit the table shortly.
- Answering phones within three rings.
- Maintaining and managing a wait list as needed.
- Taking takeout orders and following them through to pick-up.
- Checking bathrooms on a regular basis to make sure they are clean and stocked.
- Lighting candles for the dinner service and ensuring they remain lit until the last guest leaves.
- Keeping the reception desk clean, organized and stocked.
- Assisting with all housekeeping tasks, including dusting and periodic deep cleaning, emptying trash and other tasks as assigned.
Demonstrate ability to:
- Work in a team environment.
- Read and follow written procedures.
- Learn and perform in a multi-task environment.
- Effectively work with guests and take care of their needs.
- Take direction from others as well as work independently.
- Comfortable working with cash and credit card transactions.
- Maintain current required alcohol and food handler’s permits and demonstrate knowledge of alcohol and health code regulations.
- Must be 16 years of age or older.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Regular and punctual attendance.
- Available to work shifts at varying hours as the need arises.
- May require being on your feet for long periods of time.
