Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented Surety Account Manager to support contractors by managing their surety bonding needs from bid through contract completion. This role plays a critical part in ensuring bonds, contracts, and related documentation are executed accurately, invoiced timely, and fully compliant with applicable requirements. The ideal candidate is organized, client-focused, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Work Arrangement: This is a full-time position intended for a candidate based in the Southeast Region. Work location (remote, hybrid, or in-office) will be determined based on business needs and the candidate’s location.
Professional Responsibilities:
- Manage the surety bonding needs of assigned contractor clients, including bid bonds, performance bonds, and payment bonds.
- Coordinate contract and proposal documentation, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable requirements.
- Process bond invoicing and related plan orders, ensuring timely and accurate monthly billing.
- Prepare and submit reports related to bond activity, contract tracking, and invoicing.
- Coordinate with applicable transportation or contracting authorities to obtain plans and supporting documents for clients.
- Provide client support for bond requests as needed, coordinating delivery and fulfillment through appropriate channels.
- Maintain accurate and well-organized records for bond issuance, contracts, proposals, and invoicing activities.
- Adhere to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards while safeguarding sensitive client and company information.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in surety bonding, contract administration, or a related field.
- Active insurance license as required for the role.
- Associate degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts related to surety bonding, including invoicing and basic accounting principles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and systems used for contract management, invoicing, and reporting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a client-focused, service-oriented approach.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to support clients and internal partners.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment and contribute to shared goals.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with industry trends and best practices.
