Job Description
As our Manager on Duty (MOD), you're not just keeping things running—you’re raising the bar on service, safety, and satisfaction for members and teammates alike.
You’re the go-to person when it comes to making sure everything at our club runs smoothly, safely, and spectacularly. From opening the doors in the morning to locking up at night, you’re the friendly face, the calm in the storm, the problem-solver-in-chief.
Your Superpowers Include:
- Quick reflexes & leadership in any emergency—power outages, fire alarms, pool deck chaos? You’re on it.
- Being the club’s ultimate multitasker—circulating across every department to ensure everything is clean, safe, and up to our top-tier standards.
- Delivering Five*Star service with every interaction—on the fitness floor, at the front desk, in the Kids Zone, and everywhere in between.
- Keeping an eye on equipment, uniforms, customer service, and team coverage—you’re the eyes, ears, and pulse of the operation.
- Jumping in where needed—from lifeguarding checks to café walkthroughs, you’ve got it covered.
A Day in the Life (aka, what you’ll actually do):
- Carry your walkie-talkie and key ring like a badge of honor. Be ready to answer and act—fast.
- Do regular walkthroughs of the entire club every 90 minutes to ensure everything is looking sharp and running smoothly.
- Monitor the fitness floor—re-rack weights, enforce etiquette, chat with members, and keep the vibes high.
- Step in when needed—whether it’s a Kids Zone backup or helping manage a full group exercise class.
- Assist with emergency response and file incident reports when necessary.
- Fill in for missing team members or during breaks across any department—versatility is your middle name.
- Check class registration lists and enforce capacity limits—no sneaky overflows on your watch!
- Be a friendly face for prospective members when the sales team is away—give a great tour and pass along their info.
- Submit repair requests and ensure every corner of the club is operating like a well-oiled machine.
- Send out an end-of-day MOD report to keep everyone in the loop.
What You Bring to the Role:
- You’ve got leadership chops—and know how to coach, motivate, and keep cool under pressure.
- You’re friendly, proactive, and ready to help at a moment’s notice.
- Experience in hospitality, fitness, or fast-paced service roles? Bonus points.
- Excellent communicator—calm and confident whether you’re chatting with a guest or handling a tricky situation.
- Strong attention to detail—you spot messes, issues, or broken things before anyone else does.
- CPR/First Aid certified—or willing to get certified within 90 days.
- Comfortable standing, walking, and moving throughout your entire shift—this isn’t a desk job!
Who You Are:
- Positive, reliable, and full of good vibes
- Honest and ethical—you do the right thing even when no one’s watching
- A born problem-solver with a get-it-done attitude
- Comfortable juggling a lot at once—and still smiling!
Schedule & Physical Requirements:
- Must be available for early morning, evening, and weekend shifts
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Able to lift up to 75 lbs (safely!) and be on your feet for extended periods
Perks of the Job:
- Work with an energetic, supportive team in a beautiful, high-end fitness environment
- Growth opportunities—we love to promote from within
- Ongoing training and development
- You’ll never have a boring day—promise!
