About This Position
Job Summary:
Anderson Clinic is currently seeking a skilled and motivated X-Ray Technologist to join our team. This role is responsible for operating X-ray and fluoroscopic equipment to assist radiologists and/or physicians in diagnosing and treating disease and injury.
Sign-On Bonus:
We are offering a $2,000 sign-on bonus to qualified candidates.
Primary Job Responsibilities/Tasks:
- Prepare patients for radiologic procedures, ensuring safety and comfort.
- Protect patients, staff, and self from unnecessary radiation exposure.
- Operate radiographic equipment following established safety and care procedures.
- Select and adjust proper ionizing factors for diagnostic accuracy.
- Accurately position patients and perform X-rays as requested by physicians.
- Develop and process radiological film; verify image clarity and retake if necessary.
- Distribute images and results to appropriate medical personnel.
- Maintain accurate patient records, logs, and required reports.
- Conduct equipment checks and routine maintenance to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Order and maintain radiographic supplies and inventory.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education: Associate’s degree in radiological technology from accredited X-ray technician program. Current state X-Ray Technology certificate or license.
Experience: One to three years of experience as X-ray technologist, preferably in medical practice environment.
Other Requirements: American Registry of Radiologic Technologist registration preferred.
Performance Requirements:
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of X-ray procedures and protocols.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform X-ray testing including body mechanics and patient movement.
- Knowledge of radiology equipment including safety hazards common to radiology.
Skills:
- Skill in identifying equipment problems and correcting or notifying supervisor.
- Skill in following infection control and radiological safety procedures.
Abilities:
- Ability to lift and position patients for the type of X-ray procedure required.
- Ability to notice detail in drawings and differences in shapes and shadings.
- Ability to read and write instructions, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations to clients and other employees.
- Ability to competently use Microsoft Office.
Equipment Operated: Radiological equipment used for medical diagnosis and treatment.
Work Environment: Radiological unit. Exposure to disease, radiation, and toxic chemicals in the course of performing the work.
Mental/Physical Requirements: Must possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated with an X-Ray Technician such as standing six to eight hours per day. Involves some bending, stooping, squatting, reaching above the shoulders, twisting, turning, kneeling, and pushing, and pulling. Heavy lifting 75+ lbs. required to move equipment and transfer patients. Occasional stress when working with anxious patients.
