Certified Surgical Tech - As Needed in Chicago, Illinois at Community First Medical Center

This is an PRN-AS NEEDED opportunity with variable days of the week.

The Operating Room Technician, under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse, provides direct and indirect technical assistance to the surgeon and performs a variety of duties to assist the surgical team in care of surgical patients during the immediate pre-operative, and intra-operative phase.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Collaborates with other members of the health care team to resolve patient care problems and enhance care delivery.

2. Assists in the preparation for surgical cases assuring that supplies, equipment, and instruments are available.

3. Performs scrub role as assigned for a variety of surgical procedures.

4. Assists the surgical team in the transport, transfer, and positioning of patients in the operating room.

5. Assists with the maintenance, care, cleaning, packaging, sterilization, and inventory of instruments, as directed.

Education and/or Experience

• Must have 1+ years of experience in an Operating Room.
• Certified Surgical Tech required.
