JOB SUMMARY:
The Workers’ Compensation Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and scheduling care for injured workers in accordance with Workers’ Compensation guidelines. This position serves as a liaison between patients, employers, adjusters, case managers, physicians, and ancillary services to ensure timely scheduling, proper documentation, and authorization of services. This role is administrative and non-clinical in nature and requires strong organizational and communication skills.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
- Minimum one year of experience in medical scheduling, medical office operations, insurance coordination, or customer service preferred.
- Experience with Workers’ Compensation processes preferred.
- Knowledge of prior authorization workflows and payer requirements preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR), scheduling platforms, and standard office software.
- Ability to track multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining collaborative team relationships.
- Professional judgment, confidentiality, and problem-solving skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have adequate perception of sounds or adequate hearing with corrections.
- Adequate vision, or correctable with glasses/contacts, to prepare reports and read written materials.
- Able to hear, see, and feel to accurately assess, monitor, and administer care.
- Possess fine motor skills and hand/eye coordination for keyboarding and use standard office equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally.
