We are currently recruiting for a Receiving Inspector II. In this role, you will perform visual, close-tolerance mechanical, and electronic inspection of parts, materials and assemblies at incoming, in process, final production, first article and Product Development to ensure compliance to requirements and standards.
This is a day shift position working Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
Under limited supervision, the Receiving Inspector II performs visual, close tolerance mechanical, and electronic inspection of incoming parts and material to ensure quality level. Recommends inspection, test and process improvements under leadership guidance.
What you will do in the position:
- QA Inspection Support
Performs complex electro-mechanical inspections for conformance to HME requirements.
Conducts Finished Product Audits of manufactured products to evaluate conformance to product specifications.
Performs source inspections at HME supplier facilities as required.
Identifies, reports and quarantines non-conforming material.
Performs prototype, engineering, and First Article inspections to determine conformance to HME requirements.
Performs and records results of a variety of test procedures with precision and accuracy with supervision. - Applied Quality Support
Applies sampling principles to material inspections per HME requirements.
Applies external standards to material inspection when required; including IPC-A-600 and IPC-A-610. - Process Development
Recommends and develops under leadership guidance inspection plans based upon relevant, articulate data.
Recommends and develops under leadership guidance test procedures to determine conformance to HME requirements.
Recommends and develops under leadership guidance problem-solving tools and Continuous Improvement techniques for process and inspection improvement. - Administrative Quality Support
Accurately performs material transactions appropriate to inspection findings using HME enterprise resource planning system.
Reliably and accurately records inspection results to appropriate quality documents.
Conducts calibration administrative tasks related to inspection instruments, tools, and equipment as needed.
Performs process and quality record audits to identify, correct, and prevent process deficiencies.
What you will need to succeed:
- Qualifications
Ability to interpret complex electro-mechanical part and assembly drawings.
Ability to perform advanced mechanical measurements with limited supervision.
Working knowledge in the use and application of measurement tools including CMM, 3D Scanner, comparator, calipers, micrometers, height, pin, thread, radius gauges, etc.
Working knowledge of metrology and Statistical Process Control software, including Zone3, Measure X, QC Gage, and QC Calc.
Working knowledge of X, Y, Z coordinate systems and GD&T dimensioning.
Proficient in the advanced application of test methodologies, procedures, and techniques.
Ability to apply advanced technical mathematics in the course of inspections including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and numeric conversions.
Understanding of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems for transacting/moving materials.
Know and demonstrate an understanding of quality terms, definitions, and concepts.
Demonstrate a working knowledge of ANSI/ASQ Z1.4, Sampling Procedures, and Tables for Inspection by Attributes.
Know and demonstrate the ability to apply ASQ 7 quality tools (Pareto, Fishbone, Flowchart, Control Chart, Check Sheet, Scatter diagrams & Histograms).
Advanced understanding of MS Office applications required.
Ability to train & mentor others in electro-mechanical inspection and inspection techniques.
Ability to represent department when required. - Experience
Minimum of 3 years experience. - Education
High School Diploma - Required
BA or BS (college graduate) or Technical School Certificate- Preferred
ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) certification desired- Preferred
IPC 610 Certification desired- Preferred
Lean or Six Sigma Certificate desired- Preferred - Travel: 10%
The posted pay range is $20.44 - $27.00 per hour. This may vary depending on experience and other factors.
