The Opportunity

We’re looking for a hands-on, people-savvy People & Culture Manager to lead and strengthen our day-to-day HR function.

Reporting to the Director of Finance & Administration, you’ll own the core people processes that help WHC run smoothly and scale thoughtfully. This includes recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, manager support, performance management, policy development, compliance, and the continuous improvement of our People & Culture practices.

This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys building structure, improving processes, supporting leaders, and making sure the people side of the business is both well run and well cared for. You’ll also manage and support our HRBP and Technical Trainer, helping ensure strong execution across both our People & Culture operations and employee development efforts.

What You'll Do

  • Own and drive WHC’s day-to-day People & Culture operations across recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, internal communications, and compliance.
  • Lead and continuously improve core HR processes, policies, and programs to support a positive, high-performing, and well-organized workplace.
  • Partner closely with managers to provide practical guidance on people matters, including performance, feedback, team dynamics, and employee issues.
  • Help run and strengthen key people programs such as performance review cycles, employee engagement initiatives, onboarding practices, and manager support.
  • Oversee recruitment efforts across departments, helping attract, assess, and onboard strong talent.
  • Ensure HR policies and practices are compliant with applicable Quebec and Canadian employment standards and aligned with business needs.
  • Manage and support the HRBP and Technical Trainer, helping create consistency, accountability, and strong execution across the broader People & Culture function.
  • Partner with the Technical Trainer to support employee development, onboarding effectiveness, and training initiatives that strengthen performance and growth across the organization.
  • Administer and help improve employee programs related to benefits, compensation support, leave management, and other core HR operations.
  • Use HR systems and data to track trends, improve decision-making, and identify opportunities to strengthen the employee experience and organizational effectiveness.
  • Take ownership of People & Culture projects from start to finish, balancing thoughtful planning with strong execution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or related field; CRHA a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in HR, including 2+ years in an HR leadership capacity; experience in tech or similarly dynamic industries a plus.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to both strategize and manage day-to-day details.
  • Proven ability to manage and develop a small team effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills in both French and English.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain trust and relationships with leadership, management, and team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle HR matters with discretion, ethical conduct, and sensitivity.
  • Experience designing and implementing HR strategies and processes aligned with business objectives.
  • Knowledge of Quebec and Canadian labour laws and HR best practices.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems and employee engagement platforms is a plus.

Perks

  • Competitive salary with a bonus incentive plan and comprehensive group insurance.
  • Generous time off policy, including vacation, personal days, and company holidays.
  • A commitment to work-life balance with hybrid work arrangements, flexible working hours, and volunteer time off.
  • Home-office setup allowance and a beautifully renovated office space in Little Italy equipped with a games room, mini-gym, stocked kitchen, and weekly treats like bottomless bagels on Thursdays.
  • Wellness programs and frequent social outings, including memorable holiday parties.
  • Opportunities for career training and development.
  • Recognized as a Certified Great Place to Work® for five consecutive years.
