Senior Interior Designer at HBG Design – San Diego, California

This position will develop advanced level designs, have an advanced grasp of project development and production processes and have an advanced ability to work cooperatively with the Project Architect, Project Manager, and Owner. The Senior Interior Designer must demonstrate advanced interpersonal skills to lead the project team successfully through the design process.

Provide day-to-day guidance to design staff in the performance of their duties.

Regularly evaluate performance of designers, participate in performance reviews, and share assessments with Project Managers, Senior Architectural Designer, and other Senior Interior Designers.

Lead the overall design concept development effort in concert with the Project Manager and/or Project Architect/Architectural Designer.

Develop the interior design and graphic design for each project utilizing 2D and 3D graphic skills.

Direct the selection of finishes and colors for each project and prepare documents for presentations.

Coordinate the work of consultants as it related to design issues and cooperate with the Project Manager and Job Captains.

Control design-related aspects of the project labor budget, construction and FF&E budgets, design, and design-related aspects of the construction schedules, in collaboration with the Project Manager.

Registered Interior Designer.

Bachelors degree from an Interior Design/Interior Architecture Program.

Minimum ten years practical experience in hospitality design with a focus on and passion for design.

Ability to lead a team from schematic design through construction documents.

Thorough understanding of the design process, market experience, and client expectations.

Excellent presentation skills and communication abilities.

Graphic and artistic ability and/or computer/technology capability in design.

$100,000 - $125,000 per year.

Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, regional cost of living, experience, and qualifications.
