As the Portfolio Manager, you will oversee the servicing and ongoing performance of the organization's loan portfolio, ensuring compliance, operational efficiency, and portfolio quality across all lending activities.
You will manage loan servicing operations, collections, portfolio monitoring, loan modifications, and risk management while ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, SBA requirements, and Prestamos policies.
Working closely with Credit Analysts, Business Development Officers, and senior leadership, you'll help strengthen portfolio performance, improve operational processes, support strategic lending initiatives, and protect the long-term health of the organization's loan portfolio.
What You'll Do- Oversee loan servicing operations and portfolio performance.
- Monitor portfolio quality and identify potential risks.
- Manage collections activities and loan modifications.
- Ensure compliance with lending regulations and internal policies.
- Analyze portfolio trends and prepare management reports.
- Collaborate with lending, underwriting, and business development teams.
- Support audits, compliance reviews, and risk mitigation initiatives.
- Recommend process improvements to increase operational efficiency.
- Supervise portfolio servicing staff and support professional development.
- Maintain accurate loan documentation and servicing records.
You are an analytical and strategic lending professional who enjoys balancing operational excellence with risk management.
You have experience managing loan portfolios, understand lending regulations, and can confidently make recommendations that support responsible lending practices. You thrive in collaborative environments, value accuracy, and enjoy improving processes that strengthen portfolio performance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
Education / Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2–5 years of experience in loan servicing, risk management, escrow processing, small business lending, collateral valuation, portfolio management, or related lending operations
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or management experience
- Strong understanding of loan servicing operations, collections procedures, and portfolio monitoring practices
- Knowledge of Fair Debt Collection practices and reporting requirements
- Working knowledge of SBA lending programs and New Market Tax Credit financing preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel, as well as Outlook and loan portfolio management systems
- Experience with auditing practices, compliance reviews, and risk mitigation processes preferred
