Role Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Account Manager to support and grow Century Refrigeration sales activities. This role focuses on relationship building, providing technical support, and overall account management to ensure customer satisfaction and sales growth. The Account Manager will be pivotal in driving sales performance, developing sales channels, and expanding our market presence.

- Sales Performance and Monitoring:
- Monitor sales performance according to established sales plans daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, year-to-date, and annual.
- Develop and initiate sales campaigns following marketing guidelines to meet sales and production expectations.
- Customer and Distributor Support:
- Travel to sales distribution offices and customer locations to support and develop sales channels, estimated at 15-30%, with some weekend travel required.
- Communicate with customers and distribution to provide sales quotations, Selection Software training, and account management.
- Technical Support:
- Provide technical support for customers and distributors, including technical drawings, product selection, and field application of the products.
- Demonstrate and explain the operation and use of products.
- Sales Service and Problem Solving:
- Provide sales service by working with customers and corporate resources to solve problems that may develop.
- Complete travel reports and prepare expense reports promptly and according to established company procedures.
- Professional Development:
- Maintain and continue professional and technical development by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
- Market and Competitor Awareness:
- Educate oneself on competitors and their products.
- Identify prospective customers using business directories, following leads from existing clients, participating in organizations and clubs, and attending trade shows and conferences.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with colleagues to exchange information such as selling strategies and marketing information.
- Inform customers of estimated delivery schedules, warranties, or other information pertaining to purchased products.
- Administrative Duties:
- Negotiate prices, terms of sales, and shipping schedules.
- Maintain customer records using automated systems.
- Attend sales and trade meetings and read related publications to obtain information about market conditions, business trends, and industry developments.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Comply with government regulations, laws, company policies, and company procedures.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Desired Qualifications:
- Education: A four-year post-secondary technical education in air conditioning and refrigeration, or a BSME is desired for this position. Equivalent experience within the air conditioning, refrigeration, and heat transfer industry may be an acceptable alternative.
- Experience: Prior sales experience similar to the job duties of this position and developed skills required to perform the sales functions is beneficial.
- Skills: Competent computer literacy, including familiarity with the AS400 environment. Must be familiar with Microsoft product software (Excel, Word, Outlook). Effective oral and written communication skills. Multi-tasking abilities.
- Certificates, Licenses, or Training: Valid Driver's License
Interaction with Others:
Reports to the Vice President of Sales. Must be able to accurately receive and understand supervisors' instructions and determine if further instruction is required before attempting to complete the task assigned. Constant communication with other departments (Sales, Production, etc.). It is essential to work cooperatively with all employees of the RAE team.
Working Environment: This role involves spending 50% of the time in a climate-controlled office environment, with occasional exposure to manufacturing settings, including moving mechanical parts and vehicles. Additionally, 15-30% of the time will be dedicated to travel, visiting customer sites, attending trade shows, and participating in industry events, requiring flexibility in work locations and environments.
