Job Description
We are seeking a certified Peer Support Recovery Specialist to provide individual and group support, mentorship, and advocacy to clients in recovery. Your personal recovery experience will be a valuable asset in helping others achieve lasting change.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individual and group peer support to clients in recovery
Serve as a mentor, advocate, and source of encouragement throughout the recovery process
Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and their families
Collaborate with the treatment team to ensure comprehensive, holistic care
Provide referrals to community resources (employment, education, healthcare)
Document client progress, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely
Assist with clinical services including group sessions and crisis intervention as appropriate
Maintain records according to OhioMHAS standards
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred
Certified Peer Recovery Supporter (CPRS) by Ohio Mental Health and Addiction Services required
Personal experience in recovery from substance use and/or mental health disorders
2 years experience in healthcare or specialty area preferred
Strong organizational and time-management skills
CPR certification required (company-sponsored)
