JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Summary
This position is responsible for leading and coordinating custodial operations across the plant and support facilities to ensure all areas are clean, safe, and properly stocked. The Custodian Lead organizes daily work activities, supports team performance, and provides hands-on assistance as needed to maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation.
Essential Functions
- Plan, assign, and coordinate daily custodial activities
- Provide direction, training, and support to custodial staff
- Monitor work quality and ensure tasks are completed effectively
- Adjust priorities and workload based on operational needs
- Follow and promote safe work practices
- Perform and oversee routine cleaning including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing
- Ensure restrooms, locker rooms, break rooms, and common areas are clean and stocked
- Maintain hygiene stations and ensure supplies are available
- Clean facility surfaces including windows, doors, and high-touch areas
- Support laundering and distribution of uniforms and cleaning materials
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and chemicals
- Ensure timely restocking of custodial and hygiene supplies
- Keep custodial storage areas clean and organized
- Support safety and sanitation standards
- Complete assigned maintenance and cleaning-related work orders
- Identify and communicate opportunities for improvement
- Manage external cleaning services

Supervisory Responsibility
This position is responsible for the performance management of custodial employees.
Work Environment
This job operates primarily in a plant environment and may involve exposure to temperature variations, noise, and cleaning chemicals.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Full-time position. Typical hours of work are approximately 6:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Monday - Friday. This position will cover employee vacations which could include some evenings and weekends.
Travel
Minimal travel expected for this position.
Required Education, Experience & Certifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic computer skills
- Prior custodial or sanitation experience required
Preferred Education, Experience & Certifications
- Previous lead or supervisory experience preferred
- Experience in a manufacturing or food processing environment preferred
- Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred
