Senior Software Engineer, CoPilot Agent Platform

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Software Engineer, CoPilot Agent Platform based in United States.

This is a senior engineering opportunity focused on building the infrastructure behind the next generation of AI-powered, agentic software development.
You’ll help create secure, scalable platforms that enable intelligent agents to perform complex development tasks for users around the world.
The role combines backend engineering, modern frontend development, API design, distributed systems, and AI-assisted development practices.
You’ll work closely with engineers, product managers, and designers to turn emerging AI capabilities into reliable developer experiences.
Strong ownership is expected, from architecture and implementation through production health, observability, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
The environment values technical excellence, experimentation, collaboration, and thoughtful engineering practices.
This is an opportunity to shape tools that can fundamentally improve how developers build, test, and ship software.

Accountabilities:
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality software solutions that scale across multiple services and support reliable, maintainable production systems.
  • Build and evolve platform capabilities for AI agents and intelligent developer workflows, with a focus on scalability, reliability, security, and user experience.
  • Design and implement APIs that enable seamless communication and integration between platform components and downstream services.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product, design, and other cross-functional teams to define requirements, evaluate technical constraints, and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Develop extensible, maintainable code while promoting strong engineering standards, testing practices, and quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Use debugging tools, telemetry, monitoring, and other observability techniques to validate assumptions, identify issues, improve performance, and maintain system health.
  • Take ownership of the systems and services delivered by the team, including operational excellence, production support, and participation in on-call or first-responder rotations.
  • Contribute to realistic technical planning, execution tracking, feature delivery, bug fixes, and staged releases across complex software environments.
  • Support feature-flag-driven development and controlled, reversible deployments where applicable, particularly for globally distributed or multi-tenant services.
  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity, code quality, testing, review processes, and overall development workflows.
  • Help foster a culture of technical ownership, continuous learning, constructive collaboration, inclusion, and high-quality engineering practices.
Requirements:
  • 6+ years of professional experience in software engineering, computer science, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Equivalent qualification pathways include an Associate’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, a Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years, a Master’s degree with 2+ years, or a Doctorate in a relevant technical discipline.
  • Proven experience maintaining and delivering production software using one or more general-purpose programming languages such as Go, Ruby, C#, Java, JavaScript, Rust, Python, C, or C++.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience with general-purpose programming languages such as Go, Ruby, or comparable technologies.
  • At least 2 years of experience with modern frontend technologies, including React, HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and design systems.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including testing, debugging, maintainability, performance optimization, API design, and production reliability.
  • Experience designing and developing scalable software services and integrating components across complex technical environments.
  • Experience using observability and debugging tools to diagnose production issues and proactively improve system performance and reliability.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineering, product, design, and other technical teams.
  • Demonstrated ownership, curiosity, sound technical judgment, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving environment.
  • Experience with AI-assisted software development tools, such as Copilot or AI-powered code review, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with feature flags, staged rollouts, reversible deployments, multi-region services, or multi-tenancy architectures is a plus.
  • A passion for engineering excellence, developer experience, experimentation, continuous learning, and building inclusive, high-performing teams.
Benefits:
  • Base salary range of $124,000–$329,200 USD per year, with compensation determined by factors including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Eligibility for additional rewards and benefits, which may include an annual bonus and equity or stock-based compensation depending on the role.
  • Remote-first work environment, enabling employees to work from home across the United States.
  • Opportunities for professional learning, technical development, and career growth.
  • A collaborative environment focused on innovation, ownership, continuous learning, and engineering excellence.
  • Opportunity to work on large-scale AI and developer-platform technologies with significant global impact.
  • Inclusive workplace culture that values diverse perspectives, teamwork, and individual contributions.
  • Supportive environment designed to give engineers autonomy while encouraging collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Meaningful opportunity to contribute to the evolution of agentic software development and AI-powered developer tools.
