Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Software Developer II based in Canada.
As a Software Developer II, you will own full-stack features that support client-facing and internal servicing applications at significant scale. You’ll contribute throughout the software lifecycle, from technical design and implementation to deployment, monitoring, and continuous optimization. The role combines modern front-end and back-end development with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and production operations. You’ll work closely with product managers, designers, analysts, and fellow engineers to turn customer needs into impactful technology. AI-assisted development and agentic workflows are embedded into the engineering approach to accelerate delivery and improve quality. You’ll also contribute to architecture decisions, code reviews, and mentoring earlier-career developers. This is an opportunity to grow within a collaborative, product-focused engineering environment where development velocity and real-world outcomes matter.
- Own the complete lifecycle of full-stack features, including technical design, development, testing, deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization.
- Develop modern front-end experiences using Next.js or React, supported by a NestJS GraphQL integration layer.
- Build and maintain back-end services using .NET/C# and NestJS GraphQL, with a focus on scalability, performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, analysts, and engineers to shape user experiences and deliver solutions aligned with customer and business needs.
- Contribute to architectural decisions, engineering standards, development tooling, and best practices across the team.
- Deploy and operate applications in AWS and Amazon EKS/Kubernetes environments using automated CI/CD pipelines.
- Apply AI-assisted and agentic development workflows throughout design, coding, testing, debugging, and delivery to improve engineering productivity and software quality.
- Participate actively in code reviews and contribute constructive feedback that supports technical excellence and knowledge sharing.
- Mentor junior and earlier-career engineers, helping foster a collaborative culture of continuous learning and development.
- Monitor production applications and help maintain service reliability, including participation in an on-call rotation when required, potentially covering nights and weekends.
- 3+ years of professional full-stack software development experience, with a proven ability to design, build, and maintain scalable, high-performance web applications.
- Strong hands-on experience with a modern front-end framework such as Next.js or React, combined with experience using a NestJS GraphQL integration layer.
- Practical back-end development experience with .NET/C# and NestJS GraphQL.
- Experience deploying and operating applications on AWS, including Amazon EKS/Kubernetes, and working with CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with AI-powered coding and development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Anthropic Claude Code, Cursor, or comparable solutions.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and an ability to contribute effectively to technical design, architecture, testing, debugging, and production operations.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across disciplines, navigate ambiguity, and understand customer perspectives.
- A strong product mindset, demonstrated by curiosity about user behavior, attention to user experience, and an ability to connect technical decisions with measurable business outcomes.
- A collaborative approach to engineering, with an interest in mentoring colleagues, participating in code reviews, and contributing to a culture of learning.
- Ability and willingness to participate in production on-call support when required.
- Remote work opportunity within Canada.
- Competitive compensation estimated at $78,500–$117,500, with potential eligibility for annual bonuses and other incentives.
- Medical, dental, and vision benefits for eligible team members.
- Retirement plan and paid time off.
- Additional employee benefits and perks designed to support the health and well-being of employees and their families.
- Opportunities to work with modern technologies including AWS, EKS/Kubernetes, React/Next.js, NestJS, GraphQL, .NET/C#, and AI-powered development tools.
- Opportunities for technical growth, increased ownership, and mentorship responsibilities.
- Collaborative environment combining the pace and creativity of an innovative technology organization with the resources and stability of an established enterprise ecosystem.
