Job Description
The Registered Nurse Circulator is responsible for providing professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process within an assigned unit; assesses, treats and care for patients demonstrating an understanding of the cognitive, physical, emotional and chronological maturation process; coordinates care planning with other disciplines.
The nurse must have a working knowledge of sterile technique. The nurse is responsible for administration of IV conscious sedation and monitoring patients.
The nurse acts as a liaison between surgical technologist, anesthesia, and the medical team. They also are responsible for documentation of the surgery including supplies, charges, implants, equipment, etc. Counts will be performed and documented according to policy.
The nurse must participate in quality improvement and the educational development of self and others. The nurse will function as a patient advocate and promotes good community relations for the surgery department and CRMC while maintaining patient confidentiality.
Education: Associates or Bachelors of Nursing required
Certification/Licensure: Registered Nurse license required, ACLS, BLS, PALS, CNOR
Experience: 1-3 years experience in a multi-specialty operating room or comparable training
