About Green Beagle Lodge

Green Beagle Lodge is part of Digs Dog Care, a premium dog care company offering DayPlay, Overnight Stays, Grooming, and Training across multiple locations nationwide. We're built on a simple belief: every pup deserves to feel safe, loved, and at home — and every team member plays a real role in making that happen. Our shared ownership program means employees don't just work here, they have a stake in it.

About the role

As a Pet Technician at Green Beagle Lodge, you’ll play a critical role in the health, safety, and overall well-being of our canine and feline guests. This position is responsible for providing attentive, individualized care to pets staying with us, including medication administration, meal preparation, cat husbandry, and monitoring guests for changes in health or behavior.

The Pet Technician works closely with our daycare, boarding, and management teams to ensure every guest receives the appropriate care throughout their stay. This is a position for someone who is comfortable working independently, highly organized, and takes pride in noticing the small details that make a big difference in a pet’s experience.

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications accurately and safely according to client and veterinary instructions.
  • Prepare and serve meals according to individual feeding instructions, dietary needs, and schedules.
  • Provide daily husbandry and care for feline guests, including litter box maintenance, feeding, enrichment, and wellness checks.
  • Monitor dogs and cats throughout their stay for changes in appetite, behavior, energy level, bathroom habits, or overall condition.
  • Recognize signs of illness, injury, stress, or other health concerns and communicate observations promptly to management.
  • Provide appropriate first aid and follow established protocols when a guest becomes ill or injured.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records regarding medications, meals, health observations, and other special care needs.
  • Follow individualized care instructions and ensure each guest's needs are communicated clearly between shifts.
  • Maintain clean, sanitary, and organized medication, food preparation, and pet care areas.
  • Communicate professionally with management and team members regarding guest health, care instructions, and concerns.
  • Follow all safety, sanitation, animal handling, and company policies and procedures.
  • Assist with general boarding and pet care duties as needed.
  • Provide compassionate, attentive care to every guest while maintaining a calm and professional environment.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate is someone who:

  • Has a strong interest in animal health, wellness, and care.
  • Has working knowledge of basic dog and cat health, behavior, and body language.
  • Is comfortable administering medications and following detailed care instructions.
  • Has exceptional attention to detail and understands the importance of accuracy when caring for animals.
  • Is highly organized and able to manage multiple guests with different care requirements.
  • Can work independently and confidently make appropriate decisions within established protocols.
  • Is observant and able to recognize subtle changes in an animal's behavior or condition.
  • Communicates clearly and promptly with management and teammates.
  • Is dependable, responsible, and able to follow through on assigned tasks without constant supervision.
  • Is comfortable working around dogs and cats of varying sizes, breeds, ages, and temperaments.
  • Can remain calm and focused when responding to illness, injury, or unexpected situations.
  • Previous experience in veterinary medicine, boarding, daycare, shelter/rescue, kennel care, animal husbandry, or another animal-care setting is preferred.

What to Expect When Applying

  • Phone screening regarding your application.
  • An in-person interview to meet the team, tour the location, and get a glimpse of what your day-to-day will be like.
  • Orientation and training classes covering company policies, procedures, dog body language, and behavior.
  • Hands-on training specific to our pet care, medication, feeding, health monitoring, and emergency procedures.
