Job Description

Cardiac Sonographer Lead

POSITION PURPOSE

The Cardiac Sonographer Lead position is responsible for overseeing a team of cardiac sonographers, providing clinical expertise, ensuring quality patient care during echocardiography procedures, and leading staff development by mentoring and training while also managing administrative tasks like scheduling, quality assurance, and protocol adherence within the cardiac imaging department.

MINIMUM MANDATORY qualifications
Experience:
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in Cardiac Sonography
  • Proficient in Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Five (5) years’ knowledge of Medical Record and Registration requirements
Education:
  • Associate’s Degree from an accredited school or college program in Cardiac Sonography
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Current State of New Mexico Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Program Licensure (NMMIRT)
  • American Registry for Diagnostics Medical Sonography (RDCS) and/or
  • Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
Preferred qualifications
  • Five (5) years experience as a Cardiac Sonographer
  • Bachelor Degree or further education in a related discipline
