Job Description
The Mechanical Engineer is an important member of the Engineering team and is responsible for designing products or systems and determining the feasibility of designs and applications.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel or crouch.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Researches and analyzes data such as customer supplied designs, commercial and military specifications and repair manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.
- Designs products or systems such as heat transfer equipment, aircraft exhaust components, tooling and test equipment.
- Ability to design complex assembly models in SolidWorks
- Creates manufacturing plans and bills of material in WCC manufacturing software.
- Ability to interface between engineering and internal and external customers.
- Travel to customer sites, other divisions and technical conferences.
QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge/Skills/Education)
- Bachelor Degree in Manufacturing, Materials, or Mechanical Engineering – Master’s Degree a plus
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in manufacturing, industrial engineering, machine design, manufacturing process development, value engineering or product engineering
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to organize, and excellent communication skills
- 3D modeling and GD&T drafting skills, SolidWorks preferred
- Strong knowledge of precision tools and measuring equipment
- Project management skills
- Microsoft Office experience
