Put your machining experience to work helping the whole team succeed.

SIS is looking for an experienced CNC Operations Specialist who can perform complex setups, solve difficult machining problems, and help develop the next generation of skilled machinists.

This hands-on role combines regular production runs, advanced technical troubleshooting, and employee training. Youll set up and operate CNC equipment, complete assigned production jobs, and apply your expertise to challenging machining issues.

Youll also collaborate with Engineering and Quality and coach operators and setup specialists to build their technical skills and independence.

About SIS

Founded in 1989, SIS is part of EIS Fabrication Solutions. We manufacture precision components from high-performance plastics, composites, and other non-metallic materials for industries including power generation, aerospace and defense, medical equipment, and oil and gas.

Our work ranges from prototypes to production runs, with components used in electrical insulation, power generation equipment, medical imaging systems, and other demanding applications.

What youll do
  • Perform standard and complex CNC setups and run assigned production jobs while meeting safety, quality, and output expectations.
  • Diagnose the underlying causes of difficult or recurring machining problems involving tooling, workholding, programs, dimensional variation, and surface finish.
  • Interpret blueprints and GD&T, verify part quality, and make authorized program and machine adjustments.
  • Train and mentor operators and setup specialists through demonstration, hands-on practice, feedback, and follow-up.
  • Work with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and production leadership to verify lasting solutions and document improvements that prevent repeat problems.

What youll bring
  • Typically 8 or more years of progressively responsible CNC machining experience, including substantial experience with complex setups, advanced troubleshooting, program adjustments, and training other machinists. Candidates with fewer years who demonstrate equivalent technical depth and mentoring capability will also be considered.
  • Strong technical capability in at least one machine family, such as mills, lathes, or routers. Experience with multiple machine families is preferred but not required.
  • Advanced knowledge of tooling, workholding, cutting parameters, GD&T, and precision measurement, with the ability to diagnose issues beyond routine tool changes and offset adjustments.
  • The ability to interpret and troubleshoot CNC programs, make safe authorized edits, and create simple programs at the machine where required by the assigned work area.
  • Demonstrated ability to explain your troubleshooting approach and coach others to perform the work independently, along with a willingness to complete regular production runs.

Our equipment includes Haas and Smart mills and lathes, along with KOMO, Heian, and Homag routers. Relevant equipment experience is helpful. Experience machining plastics or composites is a plus; candidates with comparable CNC experience in other materials are encouraged to apply.

Why join us?

Build on your machining expertise through hands-on production, challenging technical work, and developing others. This is a technical specialist position with no direct supervisory responsibilities, offering an opportunity to contribute through your skills and experience.

Benefits
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) match: 100% on your first 3% contributed, plus 50% on the next 3%.
  • Paid time off and paid holidays.
  • Company-paid basic life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance, plus short- and long-term disability coverage.
  • HSA/FSA options, including company HSA contributions for eligible medical plans.
  • Employee Assistance Program, PerkSpot discounts, and optional supplemental and pet insurance.

Benefits are subject to eligibility and applicable plan terms.

If you enjoy hands-on machining, solving challenging problems, and helping others develop their skills, wed like to hear from you. Apply today.
