About the Role
Shaw Bakers is seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Warehouse Lead to support daily warehouse operations in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for overseeing the accurate receiving, storage, inventory management, and shipment of ingredients and finished goods while maintaining high standards for food safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
The Warehouse Lead will provide day-to-day support to the warehouse team, assist with training and coaching employees, and help ensure all warehouse activities are completed safely, accurately, and on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Warehouse Manager with warehouse organization, labor efficiency, and daily operations
- Ensure inbound ingredients are received accurately and meet food safety and purchase order requirements
- Verify proper labeling, storage, and inventory tracking of ingredients and finished goods
- Coordinate timely and accurate fulfillment of production ingredient orders
- Ensure outbound shipments are prepared accurately with proper documentation
- Monitor inventory accuracy and complete daily data entry in inventory tracking systems
- Review warehouse records including receiving logs, forklift inspection sheets, and GMP documentation
- Maintain compliance with food safety, sanitation, HACCP, GMP, and SQF requirements
- Provide leadership, coaching, and training to warehouse team members
- Conduct forklift certification training and refresher training as needed
- Promote a safe working environment and report unsafe conditions or behaviors
- Communicate operational concerns and improvement opportunities to management
- Support a positive team environment and assist team members as needed
Qualifications
- 2–3 years of experience in warehouse operations, preferably in food manufacturing or perishable products
- 2–3 years of experience leading, training, or coaching team members
- Forklift certification required
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work in freezer, refrigerated, and dry storage environments
- Basic computer and inventory system experience preferred
- Knowledge of food safety and warehouse best practices is a plus
- Bi-lingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
