Job Description
Salary:
Starting at $18.00 per hour, dependent upon experience.
Hours / Schedule: This is a non-exempt, full-time or part-time position
scheduled for up to 40 hours per week between the Navigation Center operating 24
hours a day.
Location: PATH Plaza Navigation Center Red Bluff, CA
Responsibilities: The Navigation Center is staffed seven days per week 24
hours per day to provide supportive services to individuals experiencing
homelessness or at risk of homelessness in Tehama County. P.A.T.H. is seeking a
highly personable, compassionate, and team-oriented person to provide direct
services to clients at the P.A.T.H. Day Center. This position will be responsible for
providing Day Center services during open business hours and oversight in the
shelter during shelter hours. Which may include but are not limited to: signing in
clients, identifying program needs for clients, assistance with meal prep and
distribution,
maintaining clothes closet, laundry service, showers, crisis
intervention, donation intake, and assisting case managers. This position reports
directly to the Navigation Center Supervisor and Board of Directors. Homelessness
Advocates support P.A.T.H.’s mission of alleviating homelessness and helping
program participants to become self-sufficient by providing ongoing needs
assessments, direct services, client supervision, enforcement of rules and policies
and ensuring effective operation of the Day Center program.
Essential Duties:
Ensure a safe and welcoming environment: greet clients and visitors, respond
to requests, address complaints, intervene in and deescalate situations, provide
support clients, problem-solve issues in a timely manner, provide crisis
intervention when needed and follow Day Center guidelines to maintain
structure and safety for participants.
Help clients work through conflict with other visitors in the Day Center, creating
and maintaining an emotionally and physically safe atmosphere.
Record observations and events in a daily logbook appropriately and
consistently.
Enforcement of rules and policies.
Provide direct services to Day Center visitors, including managing sign-ups for
showers, laundry, hygiene products, clothing and food.
Distribute hygiene supplies and clothing.

Ensure in-kind donations are received, stored, and organized following
organizational policy.
Participate in staff meetings and trainings.
Utilize safe work practices and maintain a clean and organized work
environment.
Oversee volunteers and assigned Community Service Workers.
Other duties as assigned to support the mission of the organization.
Qualifications:
Strong organizational and communication skills with a clear ability to provide
excellent customer service to all those in contact with agency’s homeless
services.
Motivated, self-starter with ability to work independently.
Ability to solve problems.
Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and HMIS.
Ability to work under pressure. Experience in crisis intervention and problem
solving with ability to diffuse the situation without heightening the conflict.
Willingness to complete First Aid / CPR training after hire.
Have or obtain extensive knowledge of community resources.
Cooperative, friendly, and helpful attitude with Supervisors, clients, co-workers
and community members.
Ability to work closely with other employees to ensure a positive, constructive
environment within the program and throughout the organization.
Flexibility when receiving daily work assignments.
Willingness to learn new tasks.
Ability to work with individuals with many and varied barriers, often with social
deficiencies.
Requirements:
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Possess a valid California Driver’s License.
Must provide a current DMV Driving History Report

Meet specific vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, depth
perception, and ability to focus.
Post offer, pre-employment screening requires successful completion of a drug/
alcohol screen, criminal background check, and motor vehicle record report.
