About This Position
Job OverviewThis is a clinical role providing you will be working towards gaining hours toward licensure with some sex offender and/or forensic experience. Candidates must be passionate about working with the forensic population in a multidisciplinary team setting. The right candidate must have demonstrated competence in working directly with clients and possess working knowledge of individual and group experience.This is a full-time position.Responsibilities and DutiesIn this role, you will:Clinical assessment and treatment of sex offendersClinical assessment and treatment of non-offending relativesCase managementTo maintain program documentation as requiredTo represent the agency as needed in the community (i.e. serving on committees, making presentations on our programs, etc)To participate in agency clinical meetings, team meetings and staff meetings as well as participate in in-service training.Maintain agency documentation as requiredOngoing communication with referral sourcesAttend trainings, conferences, and workshopsProvide court testimonyOther duties as assignedQualificationsMasters Degree in Psychology or related fieldMinimum of 1 years’ experience in clinical settingRegistered with Board of Behavioral Sciences
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Working knowledge of theory and application of Cognitive-Behavioral TreatmentWorking knowledge of ATSA’s “Practice Standards and Guidelines”Ability to organize and run a treatment group with adult men or womenAbility to produce accurate and complete assessments formulated from knowledge of sex offender dynamicsAbility to write effective case notes and report on data from filesAbility to organize workAbility to work independently; but relate issues to manager appropriatelyAbility to work effectively when under extreme pressureAdhere to California Sex Offender Management Board - State Certification Requirements (CASOMB)Adhere to board licensing standards and requirements Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage difficult client discussionsAbility to maintain effective working relationships with peers, supervisors, and outside agenciesAbility to work independently and in a group settingDedication to preventing further sexual victimization and ability to address difficult issues with a challenging populationProven track record of reliability and consistency of high performanceStrong desire to learn and grow professionallyExhibits an exemplary work ethic by being highly organized, detailed, and thorough
