Dermatology Specialty Pharmacy Sales Representative
Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated and relationship-driven Dermatology Specialty Pharmacy Sales Representative to develop and maintain strategic partnerships with dermatology practices, specialty providers, and healthcare organizations throughout the assigned territory. This individual will serve as the primary liaison between provider offices and the specialty pharmacy to support prescription growth, improve patient access, and enhance provider satisfaction. The ideal candidate may come from a healthcare sales, pharmaceutical sales, specialty pharmacy, dermatology office, or medical assistant background and possess strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain professional relationships with dermatologists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, office managers, medical assistants, and referral coordinators.
- Promote specialty pharmacy services and educate provider offices on prescription workflows, prior authorizations, patient assistance programs, and adherence support services.
- Increase prescription referrals and strengthen provider engagement within assigned accounts and territory.
- Conduct routine in-person office visits, presentations, educational meetings, and networking activities.
- Serve as a resource to provider offices regarding specialty medications, biologics, reimbursement support, and patient onboarding processes.
- Coordinate with internal pharmacy teams to resolve prescription processing issues and improve turnaround times.
- Identify new business opportunities and support territory growth initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of provider interactions, sales activity, and pipeline management within CRM systems.
- Stay informed on dermatology medications, specialty pharmacy trends, payer requirements, and market competition.
- Represent the organization professionally at conferences, provider events, and community outreach initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent healthcare or sales experience considered.
- Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in healthcare, specialty pharmacy, pharmaceutical sales, provider relations, dermatology, or medical office operations preferred.
- Prior experience in a dermatology office or as a medical assistant strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of biologics, specialty medications, prior authorizations, and insurance verification processes preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to build relationships and work independently in a field-based environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
