Position Summary

We are seeking a highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented FP&A Analyst – Business Operations to support cost accounting, purchasing, program-level financial tracking, reconciliations, and enterprise digital systems. This hands-on role combines transactional execution with financial analysis and continuous improvement, working closely with engineering, manufacturing, program management, and business leadership. The ideal candidate is comfortable building reliable processes while executing daily work in a fast-growing aerospace company.

Financial Planning, Cost Accounting & Reconciliation

  • Support monthly close: review transactions, prepare accruals and reconciliations, and maintain supporting schedules.
  • Maintain job-cost structures and track direct labor, materials, subcontractors, and other program expenses.
  • Reconcile purchase orders, receiving records, invoices, vendor statements, and accounting entries.
  • Support inventory accounting, work-in-process (WIP), cost of goods sold (COGS), and inventory adjustments.
  • Assist with direct and indirect cost allocations, actual-versus-budget reporting, and variance investigation.
  • Prepare cost summaries, financial dashboards, budgeting inputs, rolling forecasts, and cash-flow projections.
  • Help maintain accounting controls, audit support files, and timely resolution of discrepancies.

Purchasing, Procurement & Vendor Administration

  • Process purchase requisitions, issue purchase orders, and maintain vendor, pricing, and order records.
  • Coordinate buying needs and delivery priorities with engineering, program management, and manufacturing.
  • Track open orders, acknowledgments, delivery dates, and outstanding financial commitments.
  • Support vendor onboarding, quote comparisons, and supplier documentation.
  • Perform three-way matching of purchase orders, receiving documentation, and vendor invoices.
  • Resolve invoice and receiving variances and support accurate accounts payable processing.
  • Maintain records and approval workflows for commercial and government-contract procurements.

Program Financial Management & Tracking

  • Help establish program budgets, work breakdown/cost codes, and consistent program financial baselines.
  • Track actual costs, open purchase commitments, remaining funding, and forecast costs to complete.
  • Support estimates to complete (ETC), estimates at completion (EAC), and cost variance analyses.
  • Prepare recurring program financial reports for program managers and executive leadership.
  • Align purchasing and spend forecasts with program schedules, milestones, and cash requirements.
  • Support contract milestone billing, customer invoicing, and funding or payment tracking.
  • Flag emerging budget, commitment, and margin risks and investigate accounting discrepancies.

Digital Systems Administration & Data Entry

  • Enter and maintain transactional information in ERP, MRP, accounting, purchasing, and program systems.
  • Administer routine master data for suppliers, customers, items, projects, cost codes, and orders.
  • Support user onboarding, permissions, approved workflows, and basic system configuration.
  • Validate data and reconcile information exchanged across finance, procurement, inventory, and program tools.
  • Help troubleshoot user issues, test updates, support implementation and migration efforts, and coordinate with vendors.
  • Build reports, dashboards, standard templates, user instructions, and documented procedures.
  • Identify practical opportunities for automation and improved data quality.

Business Process Development & Operational Support

  • Establish and refine repeatable purchasing, reconciliation, financial tracking, and entry procedures.
  • Support approval controls, record retention, reporting standards, and audit readiness.
  • Collaborate across finance, operations, engineering, manufacturing, and program teams.
  • Support special projects, ad hoc analysis, and broader business-system improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related area, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in accounting, financial analysis, procurement, or business operations.
  • Working knowledge of account reconciliation, accruals, cost tracking, and purchasing transactions.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables, formulas, and analytical reporting).
  • Experience using ERP, accounting, procurement, or related enterprise systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, prioritization, and cross-functional communication.
  • Comfort with hands-on data entry and transactional tasks as well as analytical responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in aerospace, defense, manufacturing, engineering services, or project-based businesses.
  • Exposure to FAR/DFARS, DCAA expectations, job costing, and government contract cost structures.
  • Familiarity with BOMs, inventory valuation, WIP, manufacturing transactions, and three-way matching.
  • Experience with NetSuite, Dynamics, SAP, Acumatica, or similar ERP/MRP software.
  • Experience with EAC/ETC forecasts, program reporting, Power BI, SQL, or reporting automation.
  • Experience implementing systems, improving workflow controls, or writing SOPs.

Key Competencies

Initial Priorities & Success Measures
