We are seeking an experienced Corporate Director of Safety to lead safety strategy, operational risk management, and safety culture across our growing organization. Reporting directly to the Chief Risk Officer, this role serves as the senior safety leader for the company and partners closely with executive leadership to drive safety performance across all operations.

This position offers a salary range of $120,000 to $140,000 annually, based on experience, plus a vehicle allowance, company fuel card, expense card, comprehensive benefits package, and direct exposure to executive leadership.

Candidates with prior corporate, regional, or enterprise safety leadership experience supporting large general contractors, EPC contractors, industrial contractors, infrastructure contractors, or similarly complex construction organizations are strongly preferred.

Position Summary

The Corporate Director of Safety reports directly to the Chief Risk Officer and partners closely with executive leadership, operations leadership, project teams, and field leadership throughout the organization. is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving the organization's safety strategy, programs, policies, and performance standards across all locations and business units.

This position partners closely with executive leadership, operations leadership, project teams, Human Resources, and field personnel to ensure safety remains fully integrated into operational planning, project execution, workforce development, and organizational growth.

The ideal candidate possesses strong business acumen, executive presence, operational credibility, and a demonstrated ability to build scalable safety systems that improve performance while reducing organizational risk.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the organization's enterprise safety strategy across all operations and business units
  • Serve as the primary advisor to executive leadership on occupational health, safety, and operational risk matters
  • Establish and maintain corporate safety policies, procedures, standards, and management systems
  • Partner with Operations, Project Management, Human Resources, and executive leadership to strengthen safety performance and accountability
  • Develop safety programs supporting crane operations, rigging activities, steel erection, heavy lifting, transportation, fabrication, and specialty construction operations
  • Conduct safety assessments, audits, and operational reviews across multiple project locations
  • Lead investigations involving serious incidents, near misses, and high-potential events
  • Implement structured root cause analysis and corrective action programs
  • Monitor safety performance trends and develop strategies to reduce organizational risk
  • Develop leading and lagging safety performance indicators and reporting systems
  • Oversee safety training initiatives and support workforce development programs
  • Mentor and develop safety professionals throughout the organization
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations
  • Promote a proactive culture focused on hazard recognition, prevention, accountability, and continuous improvement
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Risk Management, or a related field required
  • Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 30-Hour Construction Certification required
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive construction safety leadership experience required
  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing enterprise safety programs across multiple projects, regions, or business units required
  • Strong knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration construction regulations, including 29 CFR 1926 standards
  • Experience leading serious incident investigations, root cause analysis, corrective action programs, and risk reduction initiatives
  • Experience partnering directly with executive leadership, operational leadership, and project teams
  • Strong communication, leadership, relationship-building, and influence skills
  • Ability to travel regularly to project sites, fabrication facilities, equipment yards, and operational locations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 500 Construction Outreach Trainer Certification
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or similar professional credential
  • Prior safety leadership experience with a large general contractor, industrial contractor, EPC contractor, infrastructure contractor, or similarly complex construction organization
  • Experience supporting steel erection, crane operations, rigging operations, heavy lifting activities, industrial construction, manufacturing construction, data center construction, or infrastructure projects
  • Experience leading organizational change initiatives and enterprise safety culture transformation efforts
  • Experience managing and developing safety teams across multiple locations

Work Environment & Location

This position is based at the company's Atlanta, Georgia headquarters.

Candidates should currently reside within the greater Atlanta metropolitan area and be able to regularly work from the Atlanta office. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

Regular travel to project sites, fabrication facilities, equipment yards, and operational locations is required.

The Corporate Director of Safety must be comfortable working in active construction and industrial environments including steel erection, crane operations, heavy lifting activities, fabrication operations, transportation operations, and other high-risk work environments.
