Job Description

Description:

Platform Accounting Group is in the middle of a deliberate shift – moving away from legacy on-premises infrastructure toward a modern, cloud-first Microsoft stack. As we continue to grow through acquisitions, we need a Systems Administrator who can help lead that transition across our 50+ offices nationwide. While this role includes higher-level troubleshooting and maintaining legacy systems, it is primarily focused on modernization and proactive infrastructure projects rather than traditional day-to-day break-fix support. You’ll be working hands-on with Microsoft 365, Intune, Entra ID, and Azure – deploying modern device management, migrating identities, and helping us leave outdated infrastructure behind. If you’re someone who gets energized by modernization work and wants to see the direct impact of what you build, this role has a lot to offer.

Who we are:

Platform Accounting Group is a rapidly growing professional services firm providing tax, accounting, assurance, IT consulting, and wealth management services to small and medium sized businesses and their owners. We currently have 50+ offices across 15 states with much more growth on the horizon. Enjoy a professional and dynamic work environment while making work/life balance a priority.

What you will do:

  • Microsoft 365 Administration: Manage tenant administration, including complex tenant migrations for new firm acquisitions.
  • Azure & Entra ID: Create and manage Azure storage accounts and resources; administer Entra ID including Entra Connect for hybrid environments, Entra Join migrations, and user profile migrations.
  • Intune & Autopilot: Deploy and manage applications and policies via Intune; configure and deploy Windows Autopilot for modern device provisioning and lifecycle management.
  • Identity & SSO: Lead the integration of third-party applications into Entra ID for Single Sign-On (SSO) and centralized identity management whenever supported by the software.
  • Hybrid Management: Support and maintain legacy Windows Server and LAN/WAN environments while leading the strategic transition to a modern Microsoft stack.
  • Infrastructure Oversight: Manage and deploy office firewall and network configurations; coordinate with local staff or 3rd-party contractors for physical hardware installations and site migrations.
  • Technical Escalation Point: Serve as a subject matter expert for the Service Desk, specifically focusing on complex cloud-identity, M365, and modern networking issues that exceed standard troubleshooting workflows.
  • Migrations: Lead acquisition support by migrating legacy systems and data to cloud-native solutions.
  • Vendor & Asset Management: Manage service providers, cloud environments, hardware inventory, procurement, and software licensing.
  • Telephony: Assist with cloud-based VoIP and various other phone deployments.
  • Security: Work with the Security Team to maintain network security applications (EDR) and complete compliance projects.

Requirements & Travel:

  • Must be able to work overtime and after-hours to meet deadlines as necessary.
  • Travel: Travel to various offices and locations across the United States will be required (approximately 4–5 times per year; subject to change based on business needs).
  • Must be able to lift at least 50lbs and work in tight spaces (e.g., occasional hardware installation).

What we look for:

  • 5+ years progressive IT experience. Bachelor’s Degree preferred (but not required).
  • Previous L2+ MSP experience is highly preferred.
  • Microsoft 365 Required: Deep experience including Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
  • Intune & Autopilot Required: Proven experience deploying apps, managing compliance, and configuring Autopilot profiles.
  • Entra ID Required: Experience with Entra Connect, migrating workstations to Entra Join, and managing conditional access policies.
  • Entra Identity Management Required: Experience managing users, groups, roles, conditional access policies and configure SSO integrations (SAML/OIDC) within Entra ID.
  • Azure preferred: Hands-on experience creating and managing storage accounts and Azure resources.
  • Automation: Proficiency with RMM tools and PowerShell scripting for automation.
  • Networking: General knowledge of networking and security principles including LAN/WAN, firewalls, and VoIP.
  • Communication: Excellent work ethic and communication skills to work effectively with a team in a dynamically changing environment.

What we offer:

  • Opportunity for advancement within a rapidly growing professional services firm
  • Competitive compensation
  • 401(k) and medical benefits
  • This position allows you to work on a hybrid schedule
