This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Compliance Manager in Canada.
In this role, you will take ownership of regulatory compliance and AML/CTF programs within a fast-scaling global payments environment operating across highly regulated markets. You will act as a key subject matter expert for Canadian financial regulations, ensuring that products, services, and operations remain fully aligned with FINTRAC, Bank of Canada, and broader financial crime compliance requirements. Working closely with global teams across product, risk, legal, and operations, you will help shape and operationalize compliant frameworks that support business expansion. This is a high-impact position combining regulatory strategy, hands-on execution, and cross-functional collaboration. You will also engage with regulators, auditors, and banking partners while supporting the launch of new payment products. The environment is international, fast-moving, and strongly focused on innovation within regulated financial services.
- Monitor and interpret Canadian regulatory developments related to payments, fintech, money services, and consumer protection laws
- Build, maintain, and enhance AML/CTF compliance programs, policies, and procedures aligned with FINTRAC and Bank of Canada requirements
- Oversee regulatory reporting processes including EFTR, STR, and other mandatory filings, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Support global AML operations including KYC, sanctions screening, fraud monitoring, and transaction monitoring activities
- Act as the main compliance liaison with Canadian regulators, law enforcement, auditors, and banking/payment partners
- Assess regulatory requirements for new products and services, including licensing needs and compliance implications
- Support cross-functional teams in product development, risk governance, and client onboarding from a compliance perspective
- Contribute to training, internal communications, and regulatory reporting for stakeholders and senior leadership
- 5–10 years of professional experience in compliance, AML, risk management, regulatory affairs, or related financial services functions
- Strong understanding of payment systems, fintech regulations, and financial crime compliance frameworks
- Experience working with AML/CTF programs, sanctions regulations, and regulatory reporting obligations
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work across global, cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical mindset with experience using data to support compliance decisions and risk assessments
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex regulatory topics to senior stakeholders
- Experience in payments, banking, or digital financial services is highly desirable
- Fluency in English (French is a strong asset)
- University degree or equivalent professional experience in a relevant field
