Job Description

This Facilities Technician is responsible for ensuring the functionality, safety, and comfort of our buildings and grounds. This responsibility includes complete basic routine and emergency facility tasks. Assist Facility Manager with all tasks as needed to set up space and respond to maintenance requests. Limited travel required to other local facilities.

Accountabilities:

  • Complete basic maintenance tasks assigned by Facility Manager with minimal oversight needed.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance tasks to ensure systems run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Maintain inventory and utilize tools and equipment safely and effectively.
  • Keep accurate records of completed work, parts used, and maintenance schedules.
  • Collaborate with facility users, tenants, or supervisors regarding maintenance needs and solutions.
  • Interface with professional contractors for projects and tasks as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, addressing minor cleaning or janitorial needs.
  • Respond promptly to work orders and service requests to minimize disruption.
  • May perform minor renovations or installations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Knowledge/Experience:

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in facilities or a related field (experience can be substituted for relevant technical training).
  • High school diploma or equivalent, preferably with technical training courses. Advanced education is a plus, but not critical.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required.
  • Satisfactory completion of additional background screening (if applicable).

Required Skill/Abilities:

  • Follow direction and complete self-directed tasks.
  • Assemble equipment and furniture.
  • Use hand and power tools as required.
  • Read and understand basic schematics and maintenance manuals.
  • Assist with routine shop and equipment maintenance.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • This is a FLSA non-exempt position paid on an hourly basis. Overtime may berequiredbased on production demands, including extended shifts, weekends, or holidays.
  • This role is based on the production floor. The position requires standing for extended periods, working around machinery, and adherence to all safety and compliance standards.
  • Mobility: Ability to move around the manufacturing plant, including walking, standing, and climbing stairs.
  • Manual Dexterity: Occasional use of hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Lifting: Ability to lift and carry items up to fifty (50) pounds. All lifting should be done following OSHA standards.
  • Visual and Auditory Requirements: Must be able to see and hear well enough to navigate the plant safely and communicate effectively with team members.
