Assistant Director of Key Accounts

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Assistant Director of Key Accounts based in the United States.

This role supports strategic key accounts by helping drive agent production, recruiting, onboarding, and day-to-day service needs. You’ll work closely with field leaders, recruiting teams, and internal partners to remove operational barriers and accelerate agent performance. The position combines account support, coaching, training, reporting, and problem-solving in a fast-paced environment. You’ll play an important role in helping newly appointed agents transition successfully into production while strengthening the capabilities of field leadership teams. You’ll also design and deliver webinars and live seminars that improve product knowledge, sales skills, and operational readiness. This is a fully remote opportunity with travel for select in-person training, meetings, and team events.

Accountabilities:
  • Support assigned key accounts by responding to production, recruiting, and service requests and coordinating with internal teams to resolve issues that may affect sales activity.
  • Track, maintain, and communicate key performance metrics, including production, recruiting, activation, and other business results, using reporting and tracking tools.
  • Partner with recruiting teams to help newly appointed agents transition into early production by clarifying expectations, connecting them with training resources, and monitoring activation progress.
  • Guide new and existing agents through agent portal registration and related tools while troubleshooting access, credential, navigation, and other system issues.
  • Coach agents on sales and production fundamentals through individual support, group sessions, and follow-up designed to improve activity, consistency, and results.
  • Mentor Recruiting Assistant Directors and help strengthen their knowledge of sales, production, agent activation, and field support best practices.
  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver recurring training webinars and live seminars focused on product knowledge, selling skills, agent readiness, and operational effectiveness.
  • Act as a liaison between field teams and internal partners such as licensing and appointments, operations, technology support, and compliance to escalate and resolve agent-impacting issues.
  • Document recurring issues, solutions, and process improvements and communicate relevant updates to stakeholders to improve efficiency and the overall agent experience.
  • Maintain reliable and predictable attendance and meet full-time or part-time scheduling expectations based on position requirements.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED is required; college coursework or an associate degree is preferred but not mandatory.
  • 3+ years of experience in insurance sales support, key account support, agency operations, recruiting support, field training, or a related function.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting agent onboarding, appointment, and activation processes, including resolving portal and system-access issues.
  • Strong understanding of Medicare and experience selling or supporting sales in the Medicare market.
  • Working knowledge of Medicare-related products, including Medicare Supplement/Medigap, Medicare Advantage, and Part D, as well as key enrollment periods such as IEP, AEP, OEP, and SEP.
  • Familiarity with common Medicare-related penalties, including Part B and Part D late-enrollment penalties, to support accurate training and guidance.
  • Experience delivering effective training and coaching through webinars, group sessions, seminars, or one-on-one interactions.
  • Strong analytical and reporting capabilities, with the ability to interpret production and recruiting metrics and communicate meaningful insights to leaders and stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation and facilitation abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving and customer-service mindset, with the ability to troubleshoot operational and technology-related issues and drive them toward resolution.
  • Excellent organization and project management skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple requests in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, along with the ability to learn new portals, CRM systems, and reporting platforms.
  • Completion of relevant Medicare product, enrollment-period, and compliance training is preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for in-person training, seminars, and meetings are required.
  • A Life and Health insurance license is preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and professional experience may be considered.
