Senior Manager, IT Program Management

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Manager, IT Program Management based in United States.

This is a senior leadership opportunity overseeing a strategic IT portfolio and ensuring technology initiatives remain aligned with business priorities.
You will lead governance, project delivery, service quality, and continuous improvement across the IT organization.
The role combines strategic planning with hands-on oversight of complex, cross-functional technology programs.
You will guide teams through multiple project methodologies while maintaining focus on timelines, budgets, quality, and business value.
A key part of the position is building strong relationships with executives, internal clients, and stakeholders across the organization.
You will also manage, coach, and develop a team of six professionals while fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
This role is well suited to an experienced IT leader who can independently drive change, solve complex problems, and improve how technology initiatives are delivered.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead the IT Strategic Governance and Delivery Office and oversee the portfolio of IT projects and initiatives, prioritizing work according to business value, strategic priorities, and available resources.
  • Provide strategic leadership and governance across the IT portfolio while acting as a change agent for processes, programs, and organizational improvements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal clients and senior executives, collaborating on strategies that address business needs and technology priorities.
  • Lead the planning and execution of multiple IT projects, ensuring delivery remains aligned with established timelines, budgets, quality standards, and business objectives.
  • Apply appropriate project management methodologies, including PMBOK, SAFe, Agile, and Waterfall, throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Regularly assess client needs and expectations, proactively identifying and resolving issues to maintain strong internal customer relationships and delivery outcomes.
  • Establish operational metrics, OLAs, and KPIs to measure project performance, service quality, and delivery effectiveness.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Agile to streamline processes and improve operational performance.
  • Partner with IT leadership, business units, and key stakeholders to ensure projects and processes effectively support strategic objectives.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative environment that encourages teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and better ways of working.
  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of six professionals, supporting their performance, growth, and ability to deliver business value.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience in IT process management, project management, and business relationship management.
  • Strong understanding of IT management and continuous improvement methodologies, with the ability to apply structured approaches to organizational and operational challenges.
  • Proven knowledge of project management methodologies and tools, including platforms such as Microsoft Project, JIRA, Monday, or Trello.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with strong strategic thinking and the ability to evaluate complex situations and drive meaningful change.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing cross-functional teams and working effectively with stakeholders across different functions and levels.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage, influence, and build trusted relationships with senior executives and internal clients.
  • Strong decision-making skills, including the ability to break down, compare, and evaluate alternative courses of action and make autonomous decisions on significant matters within the scope of responsibility.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a complex, collaborative environment while balancing strategic priorities with execution and delivery requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple initiatives, priorities, stakeholders, and deadlines simultaneously.
