Job Description

GXM is seeking a Technical Engineering Advisor to join our team to support advanced defense and space-related mission programs focused on Command and Control (C2), mission systems integration, operational readiness, and capability delivery.

The ideal candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to Government stakeholders, providing expertise in exercise planning, operational assessments, readiness activities, demonstrations, and capability transition efforts. This individual will work closely with mission partners, operational users, engineers, program leadership, and Government organizations to evaluate mission effectiveness, coordinate readiness events, and support successful transition of capabilities into operational use.

This role requires expertise in operational planning, joint exercises, readiness assessments, capability demonstrations, and mission-focused transition activities within defense and space environments.

This role is onsite in Colorado Springs, CO. Hybrid flexibility may be available over time based on mission requirements, program execution needs, and achievement of objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical advisory support to Government stakeholders on operational readiness, exercise execution, and mission capability transition activities.
  • Lead overall exercise assessments to evaluate mission effectiveness, operational performance, capability maturity, and readiness objectives.
  • Support Initial Operational Capability (IOC) transition planning activities to ensure successful operational adoption of delivered capabilities.
  • Develop replication and expansion strategies to support follow-on deployments, mission growth, and capability scaling across operational environments.
  • Apply exercise planning expertise to support design, coordination, execution, and assessment of mission-focused operational events.
  • Coordinate joint readiness events involving Government stakeholders, mission partners, operational users, and supporting organizations.
  • Support planning and execution of operational demonstrations, capability showcases, and mission validation events.
  • Provide exercise support activities including scenario development, participant coordination, operational assessments, and lessons learned analysis.
  • Serve as a liaison with USNORTHCOM and other mission stakeholders to support operational coordination, readiness planning, and exercise objectives.
  • Support training oversight activities to ensure personnel readiness, operational proficiency, and successful adoption of delivered mission capabilities.
  • Identify operational risks, readiness gaps, and improvement opportunities and provide recommendations to Government and program leadership.
  • Prepare readiness assessments, after-action reports, operational summaries, and recommendation packages supporting mission planning and decision-making.
  • U.S. Citizen with active TS/SCI clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Research, Military Studies, Information Systems, Program Management, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience supporting operational exercises, readiness activities, mission planning, or capability transition efforts within defense, intelligence, or space environments.
  • Experience planning, coordinating, or assessing exercises, demonstrations, operational events, or mission rehearsals.
  • Experience supporting operational readiness reviews, capability deployments, or transition-to-operations activities.
  • Experience coordinating across Government organizations, mission partners, and stakeholder communities.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, briefing, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to assess mission performance, identify operational risks, and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Experience supporting complex mission environments with multiple organizations and competing priorities.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience supporting defense, space, intelligence, or multi-domain operational environments.
  • Familiarity with Command and Control (C2) systems, mission systems, or Combatant Command operations.
  • Experience supporting Joint exercises, operational test events, readiness assessments, or IOC activities.
  • Prior military service or experience supporting Combatant Commands, USNORTHCOM, or operational mission organizations preferred.

$125,000 - $185,000 salary + annual bonus eligibility + medical/dental/vision/STD/LTD/Life + 401(k) + PTO
