Patient Scheduler in North Kansas City, Missouri at North Kansas City Hospital

SUMMARY: Patient Scheduler to support Outpatient Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine Clinics located at 9401 North Oak, Kansas CIty, MO. Centrally coordinates in-patient and out-patient procedures/tests and assures accurate processing of these for physicians and their scheduling personnel.

The role includes scheduling and checking in patients, collecting copays, registering patients, fall risk screening patients and managing referral cues for incoming new patient referrals from physician offices. In addition, this position is involved with phone reception and supporting clinic closing.

Must be excellent at customer service and multitasking. Training is done on the job for this role. The schedule is Monday through Friday, hours 9:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. No Saturdays, Sundays or major holidays involved.

EXPERIENCE: 2-3 years' experience in a medical office setting.

SPECIAL SKILLS: Ability to type and manage a computer program for clinic scheduling. Customer service skills required; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Medical terminology.

EDUCATION: A high school diploma is required. A background in medical terminology is ideal but not required.
