This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a OpenShift Virtualization Red Hat Specialist – Senior Consultant based in United States.
This role offers the opportunity to serve as a senior technical expert supporting a sophisticated, bare-metal, on-premises OpenShift Virtualization environment.
You will design, deploy, configure, and operate critical OpenShift infrastructure spanning virtualization, networking, storage, and platform services.
The position combines hands-on engineering with complex troubleshooting and lifecycle management across enterprise-grade environments.
You will work with technologies including OpenShift Virtualization, Migration Toolkit for Virtualization, GitOps, Helm, and OpenShift Operators.
Your expertise will help ensure reliable, secure, scalable infrastructure for virtual machine and container workloads.

- Design, deploy, configure, and support bare-metal, on-premises OpenShift Virtualization environments, including core infrastructure and platform services.
- Manage OpenShift infrastructure components such as DNS, NTP, networking, storage, and bare-metal provisioning using technologies including Redfish and Virtual Media.
- Implement and support OpenShift installation approaches including Hybrid Cloud Console, Agent-based Installer, and Assisted Installer.
- Design and maintain OpenShift Virtualization environments supporting virtual machines and containerized workloads throughout their lifecycle.
- Configure and support Migration Toolkit for Virtualization (MTV) for VM migration and workload modernization initiatives.
- Architect and troubleshoot OpenShift networking, including port configurations, OVS bridges, Linux bridges, VLANs, and storage networking such as iSCSI.
- Integrate and manage storage solutions required for reliable virtualization and container workloads.
- Configure authentication and role-based access control, including OpenShift RBAC and Okta integration.
- Manage OpenShift Operators and apply GitOps and Helm practices to support consistent and repeatable platform operations.
- Monitor platform health through logging, metrics, and alerting, proactively identifying and resolving operational issues.
- Perform OpenShift lifecycle management, including platform updates, upgrades, maintenance, and ongoing operational support.
- Work independently on technically demanding engagements while collaborating with customers and internal teams to resolve complex infrastructure challenges.
- Communicate technical findings, recommendations, and solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- 7–9 years of professional experience in infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, consulting, or a closely related technical discipline.
- Deep hands-on expertise with Red Hat OpenShift and OpenShift Virtualization in bare-metal, on-premises environments.
- Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Virtualization certification.
- Strong understanding of OpenShift core infrastructure, including DNS, NTP, networking, storage, and bare-metal installation.
- Experience with Redfish, Virtual Media, Hybrid Cloud Console, Agent-based Installer, and Assisted Installer.
- Extensive knowledge of OpenShift Virtualization, Migration Toolkit for Virtualization, and VM and container workload lifecycle management.
- Comprehensive OpenShift networking expertise, including OVS bridges, Linux bridges, VLAN management, port configurations, and iSCSI storage networking.
- Experience with GitOps, Helm, OpenShift Operators, authentication, RBAC, and Okta integration.
- Strong knowledge of OpenShift observability, including logging, metrics, alerting, and platform monitoring.
- Experience managing OpenShift lifecycle operations, including updates and upgrades.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to independently diagnose complex infrastructure issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both clients and technical teams.
- Willingness and ability to work remotely.
- U.S. citizenship is required for this position due to government contract requirements.

- Competitive salary range of $90,000–$163,000, depending on relevant experience and qualifications.
