Senior Sales Executive, Renewable Energy Advisory

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Sales Executive, Renewable Energy Advisory based in United States.

This is a senior, strategic sales leadership role focused on accelerating growth across renewable energy advisory and digital solutions in the U.S. market.
You will own high-value relationships with developers, utilities, investors, lenders, and asset owners/operators.
The role combines enterprise sales, strategic account development, technical advisory, and market leadership across solar, wind, and energy storage.
You will shape multi-year growth strategies, lead complex pursuits, and influence executive-level decisions through a trusted-advisor approach.
Working closely with technical experts and senior stakeholders, you will translate complex renewable energy challenges into compelling commercial solutions.
The position also offers an opportunity to influence go-to-market strategy, mentor sales professionals, and represent the business across the industry.
This is a remote opportunity suited to a commercially driven renewable energy leader who thrives in complex, consultative environments.

Accountabilities:
  • Own and expand strategic client relationships across the U.S., developing long-term partnerships with renewable energy developers, utilities, asset owners, operators, investors, and lenders.
  • Lead commercial growth for renewable energy advisory, asset advisory, energy advisory, and digital solutions, including technical advisory support for M&A transactions involving solar, wind, and battery storage portfolios.
  • Develop and execute multi-year account plans, growth strategies, and go-to-market approaches in collaboration with service leaders and senior stakeholders.
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue high-value opportunities, partnering with technical experts to develop differentiated solutions and establish lasting client relationships.
  • Lead complex proposal and pursuit strategies, including scope definition, commercial positioning, pricing, budgeting, risk mitigation, and negotiation through close.
  • Present value propositions and advisory solutions to executive-level stakeholders, guiding opportunities from initial engagement through contract execution.
  • Build and maintain detailed strategic account plans covering relationship mapping, competitive positioning, client priorities, win strategies, and growth objectives.
  • Serve as a senior commercial representative for renewable energy advisory services, building trusted relationships with key decision-makers and influencers.
  • Coordinate internal subject matter experts, engineers, solution architects, and other resources to support sophisticated, technically driven sales opportunities.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams on market campaigns, thought leadership, service positioning, and industry-facing initiatives.
  • Identify cross-business opportunities and coordinate with leaders across functions to maximize client value and enterprise growth.
  • Represent the organization at conferences, trade shows, workshops, industry associations, and executive business development events.
  • Mentor less-experienced sales professionals, sharing commercial best practices and contributing to stronger sales strategies and team effectiveness.
Requirements
  • 10–15+ years of experience in the renewable energy industry, with strong knowledge of the project lifecycle, market dynamics, and technical challenges across solar, wind, and energy storage.
  • Extensive customer-facing experience managing complex, strategic, and high-value enterprise accounts.
  • Demonstrated understanding of renewable energy risks and the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and executive audiences.
  • Experience with project finance, technical due diligence, and M&A transactions involving renewable energy assets or portfolios.
  • Strong commercial acumen and a proven track record in enterprise, consultative, and value-based sales.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, technically driven engagements and convert strategic opportunities into successful commercial outcomes.
  • Experience developing competitive proposals and coordinating cross-functional teams across technical, commercial, and leadership functions.
  • Exceptional executive-level verbal, written, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to establish trusted-advisor relationships with senior decision-makers, influencers, and account stakeholders.
  • Strong strategic thinking, business development, account planning, and market positioning capabilities.
  • Self-directed, adaptable, and results-oriented, with the ability to prioritize competing opportunities and drive outcomes in a fast-moving environment.
  • Collaborative leadership style, with the confidence to influence across departments, challenge constructively, and mentor colleagues.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional background is expected.
Benefits
  • Estimated annual compensation of $192,500–$245,000 USD, including a base salary of $110,000–$140,000 USD and performance-based compensation.
  • Eligibility for a sales incentive plan with an annual target incentive of 75% of base salary, paid quarterly and subject to performance.
  • Compensation may vary based on experience, skills, geographic location, and other relevant factors.
  • Remote work opportunity based in the United States.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Mental and financial wellness benefits.
  • 401(k) retirement savings benefits.
  • 15 days of vacation for full-time employees.
  • 12 paid holidays, including floating holidays.
  • 72 hours of paid sick time.
  • Opportunity to work at the intersection of renewable energy, technical advisory, digital solutions, and strategic enterprise sales.
  • Exposure to senior industry stakeholders and complex renewable energy transactions across North America.
