What You'll Be Doing...

Under the direction of the Director of Inn Operations and the Inn Manager, the Housekeeping Room Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily housekeeping operation while maintaining the exceptional cleanliness, presentation, and comfort of guest rooms and public spaces throughout The Selvedge, A SingleThread Inn. This role leads by example, ensuring every guest space reflects the property's uncompromising standards of luxury, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality.

The Housekeeping Room Supervisor is responsible for inspecting guest rooms, coordinating daily room assignments, supporting and training housekeeping team members, and partnering closely with Guest Services to ensure every arrival and departure is seamless. This position plays a vital role in creating memorable guest experiences by maintaining impeccable accommodations and fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.


Housekeeping Leadership & Quality Assurance

  • Lead the daily housekeeping operation, ensuring guest rooms and public spaces consistently meet The Selvedge's luxury standards.
  • Assign daily housekeeping responsibilities and prioritize room readiness based on guest arrivals and departures.
  • Inspect guest rooms, bathrooms, and public areas to verify cleanliness, presentation, and attention to detail prior to guest arrival.
  • Provide coaching, training, and ongoing support to housekeeping team members.
  • Promote a collaborative, positive, and service-focused work environment.
  • Assist with onboarding and training new housekeeping team members.

Guest Room Preparation

  • Clean, sanitize, inspect, and prepare guest rooms, bathrooms, and common areas according to established luxury standards.
  • Ensure beds, linens, amenities, guest collateral, and furnishings are impeccably presented.
  • Identify and report maintenance issues, damaged furnishings, or safety concerns promptly.
  • Coordinate room readiness with Guest Services to facilitate efficient guest arrivals and departures.

Laundry & Linen Management

  • Oversee the care, organization, and inventory of linens, towels, robes, and guest textiles.
  • Ensure proper laundering, pressing, folding, and storage of all guest linens.
  • Monitor linen inventory levels and communicate ordering needs.
  • Maintain housekeeping supply inventories and ensure all storage areas remain organized.

Property Presentation

  • Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of all public spaces, including the lobby, stairways, offices, guest lounges, restrooms, and outdoor guest areas.
  • Coordinate deep cleaning schedules and seasonal housekeeping projects.
  • Ensure the overall property presentation consistently reflects The Selvedge's luxury standards.

Guest Service & Hospitality

  • Deliver warm, professional, and personalized service during every guest interaction.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests and communicate effectively with Guest Services and leadership to ensure timely resolution.
  • Handle lost and found items in accordance with company procedures.
  • Protect the privacy, security, and confidentiality of all guests and guest accommodations.

Operations & Communication

  • Partner closely with Guest Services, Maintenance, Culinary, and Leadership to coordinate daily operations and guest experiences.
  • Communicate room status updates, maintenance needs, and operational priorities throughout each shift.
  • Assist with scheduling, daily housekeeping reports, and operational documentation as assigned.
  • Support special events, VIP arrivals, and property-wide initiatives.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with housekeeping procedures, sanitation standards, and all applicable health and safety regulations.
  • Train team members on the proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and personal protective equipment.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
  • Promote safe work practices and immediately address safety concerns.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Foster a Kaizen mindset by continually identifying opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and the guest experience.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in supporting changing operational needs.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Minimum of two (2) years of housekeeping experience in a luxury hotel, boutique inn, or hospitality environment preferred.
  • Previous housekeeping leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining exceptional cleanliness and presentation.
  • Passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
  • Demonstrated leadership, coaching, and team-building abilities.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while maintaining quality standards.
  • Ability to work independently while fostering collaboration across departments.
  • Reliable, dependable, and committed to maintaining guest confidentiality.
  • Basic computer proficiency and experience with housekeeping management systems preferred.
  • Availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as business needs require.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English; bilingual abilities are a plus.

  • Ability to maneuver throughout guest rooms, stairways, outdoor spaces, and other areas of the property.
  • Ability to maintain attention to detail while performing repetitive cleaning tasks in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
