Responsibilities

This position is available at two different levels:

Description of duties and responsibilities for MarCom Specialist role:

This position demands the overall understanding of business theories and the practical application of marketing tactics to obtain measurable business results.

  • Leads execution of marketing plan tactics. Acts as main agency contact, writes briefs that drive creative, develops and manages timelines, and coordinates design reviews with internal audiences.
  • Takes ownership of MSA’s US & Canada media plan for all advertising in those regions. Ensures media buys strategically support campaign initiatives. Negotiates media buys and oversees advertising placement process to ensure creative and content is aligned with campaign.
  • Creates tactical marketing plans to support launches and other initiatives or events. Includes research and tactical idea generation (independently or in conjunction with an agency).
  • Manages the creation and distribution of all end-user and distributor email communications and makes recommendations to improve strategy and approach. Other duties include list segmentation and management in CRM, content oversight and review, and working with email service provider (ESP) to distribute.
  • Leads event-planning subteams for tradeshows.
  • Manages campaign creation and lead-entry processes in CRM. Includes segmenting lists for campaigns and campaign information set-ups tied to sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Compiles and analyzes results reports for Integrated Marketing Manager’s review.
  • Keeps apprised

Description of duties and responsibilities for Senior MarCom Specialist role:

Develops tactical marketing communication plans for the Fire Service Market based on strategy provided by the Regional Marketing Communications Manager and Segment Teams. Ensures campaigns promote brand and message consistency. The main function of the role is to create successful, tactical marketing campaigns tied to overall NA sales and marketing initiatives, owning their implementation from ideation to execution. This includes writing tactical campaign plans, developing associated creative concepts and assets, as well as execution oversight. Also includes:

  • Planning and executing digital content for website properties and blog, including images and copy
  • Managing photo and video shoots tied to marketing campaigns
  • Ensuring appropriate execution for lead nurturing activities tied to campaigns, trade shows, and events
  • Planning and creating content for email campaigns, including newsletter content
  • Acting as main contact for marketing agencies, including managing their workload · Analyzing and presenting comprehensive campaign reports
  • Oversees tactical execution of marketing plans done by internal teams and vendor partners including interactive, online advertising, social media, and media relations initiatives, assuring message and brand consistency.
  • Plans and executes blog content, including determining article topics, writing articles and/or managing freelance writers, as well as email and social campaigns promoting blog content.

· Develops strategy for regional and national advertising campaigns in US & Canada. Ensures media buys strategically support marketing and sales initiatives. Oversees execution of plan, including advertising placement, content development partnerships, etc.

· Responsible for development of social media editorial content, ensuring creative is in line with documented content strategy. Oversees community management activities, working with internal and external teams to support timely follow up with customer comments.



Qualifications

Experience requirements and preferred experience for MarCom Specialist Role:

Required Experience:

  • 3 years of experience in marketing or advertising planning
  • Ability to implement product/project execution plans with limited supervision
  • A thorough understanding of both existing and emerging marketing channels
  • Capable of leveraging AI tools to develop, personalize, and optimize marketing content, campaigns, and insights for improved engagement and performance
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to think creatively
  • Strong Project Management skills
  • Ability to distill information from various sources into meaningful reports
  • A sharp focus on detail and timeline management
  • Ability to work within a deadline-oriented, fast paced team environment
  • Maximum of 10% travel required.

Required Education:

  • Undergraduate BA/BS Degree (Business/Marketing/Communications focus)·

Preferred Experience:

  • Advertising or interactive agency experience
  • Experience with online strategies & emerging digital technologies

Experience requirements and preferred experience for SENIOR MarCom Specialist Role:

Required Experience:

  • 5 years’ experience in a marketing role
  • Past marketing strategy & goal development
  • A thorough understanding of both existing and emerging marketing channels
  • Ability to deliver consistent messaging across various channels
  • Capable of leveraging AI tools to develop, personalize, and optimize marketing content, campaigns, and insights for improved engagement and performance
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Strong Project Management skills
  • Strong Verbal and Written Communication Skills
  • Strong Organizational and Problem-Solving Skills
  • Maximum of 10% travel required

Preferred Experience:

  • Advertising or interactive agency experience
  • Experience with online strategies & emerging digital technologies

Required Education:

  • Undergraduate BA/BS Degree

Preferred Education:

  • Business, Journalism, Communications, or Marketing concentration
