Job Description
General Description of Duties: Performs work of moderate difficulty supervising housekeeping and cleaning activities for Lucy Corr and performs other work as required.
Specific Statement of Responsibilities (not all inclusive):
- Assigns duties, trains and supervises Environmental Services personnel;
- Interviews and makes employment selections;
- Maintains personnel schedule;
- Conducts in-services;
- Maintains documentation of personnel performance;
- Counsels personnel;
- Conducts performance reviews of Environmental Services personnel;
- Inspects all assigned areas in residents’ rooms and bathrooms;
- Makes cleaning assignments and inspects cleaning of non-resident care areas;
- Assigns and monitors floor maintenance for all floor surface types;
- Assigns and monitors equipment maintenance;
- Conducts monthly room inspections;
- Inspects rooms for new admissions;
- Facilitates the set-up of rooms for special meetings and functions;
- Assigns and maintains documentation of large housekeeping projects;
- Requisitions department supplies;
- Tests and evaluates new products
- Assigns distribution of supplies;
- Processes payroll;
- Performs other duties as required
Physical Requirements: The ability to: speak, read, and write in the English language; communicate effectively; use dexterity of fingers and repetitive arm motions frequently; perform fine manipulation; gross grasp; and push and pull with both the right and left hands and arms; use repetitive feed motion with both feet and legs; lift 1-10 lbs. frequently, 11 to 50 lbs. or more occasionally, 50 to 100 lbs. or more occasionally with the use of equipment assistance apparatus; and bend stoop, squat, kneel, climb/balance ,and reach above shoulders occasionally.
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities: Good working knowledge of cleaning, finishing, and disinfectant chemicals; the operation of floor buffers and shampooers; the operation and maintenance of equipment and machinery used in housekeeping work and the ability to maintain a positive customer service attitude and be proactive and responsive to departmental needs.
Minimum Education and Experience: Core curriculum for a high school diploma and two to three (2-3) years of Environmental Services supervisory experience preferably in a health care setting, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
