Job Description
The Director of Food & Beverage provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for all food and beverage functions at DoubleTree by Hilton Greeley at Lincoln Park. This role is responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences across the property’s bar and lounge, banquet and event services, and in-room dining operations while driving revenue growth, managing costs, and upholding Hilton brand standards.
The Director of Food & Beverage will build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team, foster a culture of hospitality excellence, and partner cross-functionally with Sales, Events, and Hotel Operations to position the property as a preferred destination for dining and events in the Greeley market.
Key ResponsibilitiesOperations Management• Oversee daily operations of the bar/lounge, banquet and event catering, and in-room dining.
• Ensure consistent delivery of Hilton brand standards, service protocols, and quality benchmarks across all F&B outlets.
• Develop, implement, and refine operating procedures, service standards, and guest experience touchpoints.
• Maintain all health, safety, sanitation, and liquor compliance requirements in accordance with local, state, and Hilton regulations.
• Monitor and respond to guest feedback, online reviews, and satisfaction scores to drive continuous improvement.
Financial Performance• Own the F&B department’s P&L, including revenue generation, cost control, labor management, and profitability targets.
• Develop and manage the annual F&B budget; provide monthly financial forecasts and variance analyses to the General Manager.
• Implement pricing strategies, menu engineering, and promotional programs to maximize revenue per cover and event.
• Control food and beverage cost percentages within approved thresholds through disciplined purchasing, inventory management, and waste reduction.
• Identify and capture new revenue opportunities through upselling, special events, and outlet programming.
Team Leadership & Development• Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and evaluate F&B team members across all outlets and functions.
• Foster a positive, inclusive work environment that promotes employee engagement, development, and retention.
• Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and disciplinary actions in partnership with Human Resources.
• Design and deliver ongoing training programs covering service standards, product knowledge, TIPS certification, and food safety.
• Build bench strength by identifying and developing high-potential team members for advancement.
Menu Development & Culinary Partnership• Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop, refresh, and engineer menus for all outlets that reflect local tastes, seasonal availability, and profitability goals.
• Curate beverage programs for the bar/lounge and banquet service, including cocktail menus, wine lists, and beer selections.
• Maintain awareness of current food and beverage trends to keep offerings competitive and relevant.
Events & Banquet Operations• Partner with the Sales and Catering team to develop and execute memorable banquet, meeting, and special event experiences.
• Review and execute Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) to ensure seamless event setup, service, and breakdown.
• Serve as the primary F&B liaison for high-profile events, ensuring client satisfaction and repeat business.
• Develop customized banquet menus, packages, and pricing to support competitive group sales efforts.
Strategic Planning & Cross-Functional Collaboration• Report directly to the General Manager and participate in hotel leadership team meetings and planning sessions.
• Collaborate with Front Office, Housekeeping, Sales, and Engineering to coordinate seamless hotel-wide operations.
• Develop and execute a strategic F&B business plan aligned with the property’s annual goals and Hilton brand objectives.
• Represent the F&B department in ownership reviews, quarterly business reviews, and Hilton brand audits.
QualificationsRequired
• Minimum 4–6 years of progressive food and beverage leadership experience in a full-service hotel, resort, or comparable hospitality environment.• Demonstrated success managing multiple F&B outlets simultaneously, including bar operations, banquets/catering, and room service.• Strong financial acumen with direct P&L accountability and proven track record of meeting or exceeding revenue and cost targets.• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to hire, develop, and motivate a diverse team.• Solid knowledge of food safety regulations, liquor laws, and OSHA requirements.• Proficiency with property management systems (PMS), point-of-sale (POS) systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.• Valid Food Handler’s Manager Certification (ServSafe or equivalent).• TIPS or equivalent responsible alcohol service certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).
Preferred• Prior experience with Hilton Hotels & Resorts brand standards and Hilton systems (OnQ, Delphi, LightSpeed, etc.).• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, Business Administration, or a related field.• Experience in a select-service or full-service hotel with 150+ rooms.• Proven experience growing banquet and event revenue in a competitive market.• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
This position requires flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, in alignment with hotel operations and event schedules. The role involves standing and walking for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in kitchen and banquet environments. Regular interaction with guests, team members, and vendors is expected.
