Position Summary
As the Café Cashier at Good Ambler's 2 North Riverside location, you will be the first point of contact for guests visiting our grab and go café. In this role, you will provide friendly and efficient service while maintaining a clean, organized, and well stocked retail space. You will process transactions, assist with inventory management, support catering and wholesale order preparation, and help create a welcoming environment for every guest. Success in this position requires a positive attitude, strong attention to detail, and a genuine passion for “hospitotally.”
Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Greet guests and provide exceptional hospitality and customer service.
- Accurately process guest transactions through the point of sale system.
- Stock and organize retail shelves, coolers, and display areas.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with inventory counts as directed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the grab-and-go area, including guest seating areas.
- Assist with packaging and preparing catering and wholesale orders.
- Ensure products are properly labeled, rotated, and displayed.
- Answer guest questions regarding products, menu items, and offerings.
- Communicate inventory, product, or guest service concerns to management.
- Follow all company policies, food safety standards, and sanitation procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Café Manager
About You:
- Previous cashier, retail, café, restaurant, or customer service experience preferred.
- Passion for hospitality and creating positive guest experiences.
- Friendly, professional, and approachable demeanor.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable handling cash and processing transactions accurately.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and perform other physical tasks associated with stocking and maintaining the space.

- Job Type: Part-Time, Hourly
- Schedule: Approximately 20-25 hours per week. Monday through Friday with a 6:00 AM start time.
- Compensation: $17-$18/hour
- Paid leave and paid sick leave in accordance with Chicago requirements.
