Location: Oxford, MI

Position Summary

The Quality Technician plays a key role in ensuring products meet customer, regulatory, and quality requirements throughout the manufacturing process. This position is responsible for inspection activities, quality documentation, supplier quality verification, and CMM programming and operation in support of aerospace and defense manufacturing programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program and operate Hexagon Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) using PC-DMIS.
  • Inspect raw materials, in-process parts, finished products, and supplier-provided products to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
  • Maintain calibration records and inspection equipment documentation.
  • Review production plans and quality requirements and estimate inspection activities needed to ensure product quality.
  • Assist in developing, reviewing, and executing inspection and testing plans.
  • Support vendor audits and verify quality requirement flow-downs to suppliers and vendors.
  • Verify supplier, vendor, and material certifications.
  • Investigate defects and nonconformances, document findings and root causes, and support corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Communicate quality findings and coordinate with production and other departments to ensure quality requirements are met throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100 and applicable customer, regulatory, and industry quality standards.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in quality, manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Good math and technical skills.
  • Experience using standard inspection gauges and measuring equipment, including calipers, height stands, micrometers, bore gauges, and similar tools.
  • Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Understanding of AS9100 or equivalent quality management standards.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience operating and programming CMMs using PC-DMIS.
  • Experience with JobBOSS² ERP software.
