Job Description
Position Summary
At Alabama Anesthesiology & Pain Consultants, our Medical Assistants are an essential part of our patient care team. We are seeking a motivated, compassionate professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and is passionate about helping patients improve their quality of life. This role combines hands-on clinical responsibilities with outstanding customer service to ensure each patient receives safe, efficient, and compassionate care from check-in through treatment.

- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred
- Six months to one year of clinical experience preferred
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Pain management or specialty practice experience is a plus
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Welcome and prepare patients for provider visits
- Obtain and document vital signs, medical history, and medication lists
- Assist physicians with examinations and in-office procedures
- Prepare, stock, and maintain exam and procedure rooms
- Administer injections within scope of practice
- Perform EKGs as directed
- Schedule appointments and assist with patient flow
- Educate patients on treatment plans and follow-up instructions
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and clinic policies
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment
- Collaborate with physicians and team members to provide exceptional patient care
