Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate employee records, personnel files, and HRIS data while ensuring strict confidentiality.
- Support payroll administration utilizing ADP and Deel, including employee data updates and payroll-related changes.
- Serve as an HR partner providing guidance and recommendations to managers and employees on employee relations, policy interpretation, performance management, and workplace issues.
- Coordinate employee offboarding processes, including exit documentation, system access, and final HR procedures.
- Process employee status changes, compensation adjustments, promotions, transfers, and benefit updates.
- Provide guidance on plan provisions and eligibility, resolve escalated benefit issues, and support annual open enrollment activities.
- Conduct employee relations investigations, evaluate findings, document outcomes, and recommend appropriate resolutions consistent with company policy and applicable employment laws.
- Partner with managers to provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, and workplace issues.
- Interpret and apply federal, state, provincial, and local employment laws to ensure compliance and mitigate organizational risk.
- Maintain HR reports, organizational data, personnel documentation, and workforce records.
- Coordinate mandatory compliance training, policy acknowledgments, and required certifications.
- Participate in HR projects and organizational initiatives that support business objectives.
- Administer workers' compensation claims, unemployment claims, leaves of absence, and employment verification requests.
- Support recruiting and onboarding activities as needed.
- Travel occasionally throughout the United States and Canada to support business operations and HR initiatives.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
What You Bring to the Team
- 2+ years of Human Resources experience.
- Experience in hands-on HR Generalist, HR Coordinator, or HR Operations role.
- Some payroll experience preferred
- Experience supporting multi-state HR operations; Canadian HR experience is preferred.
- ADP Workforce Now experience is a plus.
- Some knowledge of employee relations, recruiting, benefits administration, and compliance.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Billingual in Spanish is a plus.
- Tax filing, setup and maintenance experience is a plus
- Experience handling confidential employee information with professionalism and discretion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
