Director, People Strategic Partner

Accountabilities:

The Director, People Strategic Partner will provide strategic HR leadership by partnering with business leaders to design and execute people initiatives that support organizational success. This role combines strategic planning, employee advocacy, change management, and operational excellence to create a high-performing and inclusive workplace.

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership teams, developing and implementing people strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Partner with leaders to identify organizational needs and provide solutions across talent management, performance, engagement, and workforce planning.
  • Lead initiatives focused on employee engagement, culture development, organizational effectiveness, and change management.
  • Drive performance management processes, talent development programs, and succession planning initiatives.
  • Provide guidance and support on complex employee relations matters while ensuring compliance with employment laws and internal policies.
  • Promote consistent and equitable people practices across teams and functions.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor assigned People team members to support professional growth and operational effectiveness.
  • Use data and insights to evaluate people trends, identify opportunities, and inform strategic decision-making.
  • Manage multiple projects and initiatives while maintaining alignment with organizational priorities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of HR processes, systems, and programs.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate is an experienced HR professional with strong strategic partnership capabilities, business acumen, and the ability to influence leaders in a dynamic environment. This individual should bring a collaborative approach, strong judgment, and expertise across core HR functions.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of progressive HR management experience, including strategic HR partnership responsibilities.
  • 2+ years of experience supervising or mentoring HR team members.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws, HR compliance requirements, and best practices.
  • Proven experience supporting talent management, performance programs, employee relations, and organizational development initiatives.
  • Strong communication, consulting, and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, work independently, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using data tools such as Excel, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace.
  • Resourceful, adaptable, and comfortable navigating organizational change.
  • Preferred: SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification.
  • Preferred: Experience in early childhood education, Head Start programs, or mission-driven organizations.
